Sunyani West MP funds Odomasi asphalted road project. The Member of Parliament for Sunyani West Constituency in the Bono Region, Millicent Yeboah Amankwah, has received accolades for her tireless efforts in addressing social and economic challenges affecting her constituents.  A notable example of her commitment is the asphalting of Odomasi roundabout to the former court through to Fiapre road, which passes in front of the Odomssi palace. On 28th July, the MP, Millicent Yeboah Amankwah, and the Bono Regional Minister, Joseph Addae Akwaboa esq. inspected the road as constructing asphalting commences. Residents who had long struggled with the poor state of the road in an interview with Kaakyire Kwasi Afari of Sunyani-based Ark fm expressed gratitude to the MP for her initiative.  They cited the road's previous condition as perilous, posing health risks to nearby residents and deterring customers from patronizing local food vendors due to dusty conditions during the dry season. PRESIDENCY COMMUNICATIONS PRESENTS GOVERNMENT ACCOUNTABILITY SERIES STARTING TODAY MONDAY 14TH JULY, 2025. As part of efforts to deepen transparency and accountability in governance, the Presidency Communications Office will on Monday, 14th July 2025, begin "The Government Accountability Series".  The series will offer a platform for a tentative appraisal of the government's performance over the last six months. Key sector ministers will present Mid-Year updates on their sector’s performance.  The series will be held three times a week on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 11 am. Ernest Yaw Kumi was an astute politician, peacemaker - Eastern Regional NPP Chairman pays tribute. The Eastern Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party, Jeff Konadu Addo, has paid a heartfelt tribute to the late Member of Parliament for Akwatia, Ernest Yaw Kumi, describing him as a peacemaker and astute politician.  Mr. Ernest Yaw Kumi passed away on July 7th at the age of 40. President Mahama begins Thank-You Visit to three regions today from Bono East.  President John Dramani Mahama will address a durbar of chiefs and people of the Bono East region today 29th May, 2025 as he begins a three-region tour to thank Ghanaians for their massive votes in December 2024 elections.  The President will use the various durbars to announce priority development projects intended to create opportunities for the people's well-being.  On Friday, President Mahama will pay his Thank-You visit to Sunyani, the capital of the Bono region, and wrap up this leg on Saturday with a similar durbar at Goaso in the Ahafo region. NPP Former Communication Director Blames Poor Leadership Style for the Party Woes in the Bono region. Leadership crisis remains a major contributing factor causing the misfortunes of the New Patriotic Party in the Bono Region, according to the former Bono Regional NPP communication director, Asare Bediako Seth.  Asare Bediako Seth, known as ABS, says the Bono Regional chairman, Mr. Kwame Bafoe has sidelined majority of regional executives with a divide and rule approach in his tenure. Berekum West MP to Lead in Youth Employment Initiative. The MP of Berekum West Constituency of the Bono Region, Hon. Dickson Kyere-Duah aka Stugard has assured, he will work in collaboration with the media to help promote the interest of the constituency as long as he is the Memeber of Parliament to serve the mandate of the people. At least a total of twenty-four (24) candidates, including 3 women, have successfully filed their nominations to contest the Eastern Regional Council of State election, scheduled for February 11, 2025. The nomination process, which ended at 5:00 PM last Wednesday, took place at the Eastern Regional Coordinating Council. Speaking with te media after the close of nominations, the Eastern Regional Director of the Electoral Commission, Mr. John Appiah Baffoe confirmed that twenty four (24) candidates had successfully met the necessary requirements. He also noted that out of the twenty four (24) aspirants, only three (3) are women, reflecting the need for greater female participation in leadership roles. Eleven (11) persons all men in the Bono East Region have filed their nomination forms to contest in the forthcoming Council of State Elections which will take place on Tuesday, 11th February, 2025, at all regional capitals. According to Article 89 (1) of the 1992 Constitution, the Council of State is “to counsel the President in the performance of his functions.” The Council of State consists of fifteen (15) persons appointed by the President in consultation with Parliament, President of the National House of Chiefs and one representative from each Region of Ghana elected in accordance with regulations made by the Electoral Commission under article 51 of the 1992 Constitution. The Appointment Committee of Parliament during a vetting proceedings 30th January, 2025 has been suspended over a confusion that erupted during the vetting of the Ministers of Health and Foreign Affairs designate Hon. Kwabena Mintah Akando and Hon. Samuel Okogyato Ablakwa.
