Ejisu By-Election, Lawyer Kwabena Boateng Wins for NPP. The Electoral Commission of Ghana has declared Kwabena Boateng, thd New Patriotic Party's (NPP) candidate, the winner and the Member of Parliament-elect for Ejisu Constituency at the end of the April 30 by-election in the Constituency. Mr Boateng polled 27,782 votes, representing 55.79 per cent while his closest contender, Mr Kwabena Owusu Aduomi, an independent candidate polled 21,536, representing 43.24 per cent of total valid votes cast. Meanwhile, Beatrice Boakye of the Liberal Party had 140 votes representing 0.3% Esther Osei of the Convention People’s Party received 89 votes representing 0.2 percent. Independent Candidates Joseph Agyemang and Atakora Joseph had 222 representing 0.2% and 23 representing 0.0% respectively. President Akufo Addo and Bawumia Mourns with Busia's Family at Wenchi. President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo and Vice President Dr. Alhaji Mahamud Bawumia on Saturday joined mourners at the final funeral rites of Obapanin Ama Serwaa Bame Busia at Wenchi in the Bono Region. Vice President Bawumia arrived at the funeral grounds with his wife, Samira Bawumia. Other notable members of the NPP were the Chief of Staff  Abena Frema Osei Opare, the Attorney General, Godfred Yeboah Dameh, Deputy Attorney General Gofred Tua Yeboah, National Chairman of NPP, Mr. Stephen Ayensu, The Bono Regional Chairman of NPP, Kwame Baffoe Abronye DC, Former General Secretary, Kwabena Agyei Agyapong, Professor Christopher Ameyaw Akumfi, Professor, George Gyan Baffour and other bigwigs of the ruling party.
