NEW BEREKUM SUB-STATION NEDCo COPPER CABLES STOLEN

NEDCo COPPER CABLES STOLEN AT THE NEW BEREKUM SUB-STATION Barely a  month after the newly constructed 161Kv  substation in the Berekum Municipality of the Brong Region was commissioned by GRIDCo and consumers were hooked onto it by NEDCo,  the NEDCo end of the construction has suffered theft of copper cables. Out of the 22 towers connecting the new 161Kv substation (owned by GRIDCo) to the 34Kv substation (owned by NEDCo) , copper grounds have been stolen from 16 towers. At a briefing with members of the Berekum Municipal Assembly including the Member of Parliament for Berekum East Constituency, Hon. Dr. Kwabena Twum Nuamah and the Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Kofi Adjei, the Corporate Communications Manager of NEDCo Mr. Maxwell Kotoka explained that the copper grounds are a protective device to ensure that the towers do not get electrically charged during thunder and lightening. BEREKUM WEST DCE TO CONSTRUCT 14 MECHANIZED BOREHOLES IN THE DISTRICT

BEREKUM WEST DCE CUT SOD FOR CONSTRUCTION OF 4 MECHANIZED BOREHOLES FOR SELECTED COMMUNITIES The DCE for Berekum West District of Bono Region Hon. Isaac Osei, has today cut sod for the construction of mechanized boreholes for four selected communities in the district. The communities include Amankokwaa, Nanasuano, Abansere and Amomaso. These 4 communities are to get a mechanized borehole each to help them overcome the shortage of water in the various towns. This is the first phase of 14 mechanized borehole project to be constructed by the DCE in the district under the community water and sanitation project. BRONG AHAFO CELEBRATES WORLD WATER DAY BUT OWNS OVER GHC 20 MILLION TO GHANA WATER COMPANY Today 22nd March, 2019 marks the world water day celebrations with the theme "water for all, leaving no one behind" which the Brong Ahafo Region celebration was held in Berekum Ghana water company headworks. The Regional Commercial Manager of the Ghana Water Company Limited of the Brong Ahafo, Mrs. Yaa Frimpomaa Osei-Mensah explained that the celebrations of the world water day is very paramount because water has been an essential commodity for all and it's time we pay attention to water as we should not missuse it and also prevent our water bodies from total destruction. I believe that a balanced world is a better world. On that note,  let us all promote gender balance in affirmative action to make our world a better place for all. In promoting affirmative action for women across the world, I would also like to admonish all women to live up to the task when given the opportunity to serve. We cannot afford to be tagged as mediocre. How can we help forge a more gender-balanced world? BEREKUM RECORDS 3 FIRE DISASTERS IN FIRST QUATER OF 2019

 MUNICIPAL RECORDS 3 FIRE OUTBREAK IN FIRST QUARTER OF 2019 The latest fire outbreak that hit Berekum Ayakorasi-Dominase Electoral Area in the Berekum East Municipality last Friday , 1st March, 2019, has brought a heavy cost over millions of Ghana Cedis to the affected individuals. According to information Alrich24newsgh.com has gathered, but unconfirmed by Ghana fire services, the source of the fire outbreak,  according to eye witnesses is that it all started from a flour mill structure situated to an enclosed place and it spread to a chop bar, 2 drinking spots, corn mill , a wholesale supermarket, hairdressing saloons and a 5 bedroom house which were all located in the same place. For the timely intervention of Dormaa Ahenkro, Sunyani and Nsuatre Ghana Fire Services departments, the affected area were rescued and the fire was brought under control. The question most people are asking is why Berekum fire tender couldn't help at the time their service was badly needed.
