Okada Rider Allegedly Beheads 12-Year-Old Boy At Mafi Aflokofe in the Eastern, The ‘Prophetess’ Linked To The Beheading Of 12-Yr-Old Boy At Mafi Dove Arrested. Flora Ekpe, the supposed prophetess allegedly involved in the killing of a 12-year-old boy, Kofi Kuzagbe Tsidi at Mafi Dove in the Central Tongu District, of the Volta Region, has been arrested. She was picked up by the Sogakofe Divisional Police Command after the main suspect in the case, Emmanuel Tsidi Doe, 22, claimed he was sent by her to bring a human head for ritual purposes. Both suspects are currently at the Sogakofe Divisional Police Command, assisting with investigations into the incident. The deceased was allegedly beheaded by Dovi Tsidi, 26, who happens to be a relative to the deceased at Mafi Aflokofe. The incident happened on Sunday at 9:00 pm. What happened to US military equipment left behind in Afghanistan? The U.S. military likely abandoned tens of millions of dollars’ worth of aircraft, armored vehicles and sophisticated defensive systems in the rush to leave the airport in Kabul safely. Marine Gen. Kenneth McKenzie, the head of U.S. Central Command, said some of the equipment had been “de-militarized,” essentially rendered inoperable. Troops likely used thermate grenades, which burn at temperatures of 4,000 degrees Fahrenheit, to destroy key components of the equipment, according to a Defense department official who was not authorized to speak publicly. Highlights of New Academic Calendar for 2020/2021 Academic Year. The Ghana Education Service has released a new academic calendar for the 2020/2021 academic year.  The changes to the old academic calendar affects the 1st and 2nd Sessions of the 2nd semester for Green and Gold tracks students for SHS 1&2. Form One 1 Green students are on holidays and are preparing to return to school on:  1st September, 2021 to begin 2nd Semester and will stay in school until 28th January, 2022. Form One 1 Gold students are in school and will vacate on:   28th August, 2021. They will return to school on 10th October, 2021 to complete the 2nd Session of the 2nd Semester which ends on 28th January, 2022.  Form Two 2 Green Students are in school and will vacate on: 28th August, 2021. They will return to school on 30th October, 2021 to complete the 2nd Session of the 2nd semester which ends on 28th January, 2022. Youth in Border Communities Urged to  Help Fight Child Trafficking-CWG. The Executive Director of  Citizens Watch Ghana, Simon Asore has urged the youth in the border communities within the  Bono Region to assist in fighting child trafficking within the Dormaa and Sampa borders including Berekum and it's environs.  The Executive Director, Simon Asore, made the call during a community forum on Awareness Creation and Sensitization on border Security Management in Berekum in the Bono region. The project dubbed; Enhancing Citizens Participation in Border Security Managementis sponsored by Center for Democratic Development Ghana ( CDD-ghana) with funding from the US Embassy in Ghana. Mr. Asore said, the location of  Berekum in the region is a fertile ground  for activities suck as child trafficking, drugs and terrorist activities the people in the community should get prepared to face future eventualities since the town is located in the centre of the region. A fire incident at Berekum in the Bono Region has destroyed 16 rooms, four shops, and other property running into thousands of cedis. The incident, according to witnesses, occurred late afternoon on Friday, August 27, 2021, with the cause not immediately known. Speaking to Adom News, some of the victims said they saw smoke coming out of the building’s roof and called the Fire Service. But for the swift response of the firefighters, traders disclosed the fire could have wreaked more havoc than it did. A business owner, Perpetual Amponsah, amid tears, narrated she lost everything to the fire. TTI Student Escaped Suicide After Drinking Poisonous Chemical.  A 17 year old girl of the Takoradi Technical Institute (TTI) in the Western Region has been hospitalized after drinking a poisonous substance suspected to be ddt.  The girl was admitted at the Effia Nkwanta Regional Hospital after her friends suspected her  of drinking some chemical believing to be poison. Faustina as she is called in the school was rushed to the hospital after she fainted at the campus. She therefore confessed later of drinking the ddt chemical to end her life over a trauma she is going through in her life even in the school. She claims life has been unbearable for her and decided to end it all thus why she took the poisonous substance.  She has since been responding to treatment after being save by her friends and the institute authorities for sending her to the hospital when she got fainted.
