The Ashanti Regional Directorate of NSA was implicated in ticket racketeering. Some of the  Staff of the National Sports Authority (NSA) Kumasi have been arrested by the police in Kumasi for selling fake match tickets for the match between Asante Kotoko and Real Tamale United at the Kumasi Baba Yara Sports Stadium. A  lady by the name of Julian a staff of the National Sports Authority was first arrested by supporters of Asante Kotoko who refused to open up, when he was transported to the Asokwas police station,  she mentioned one Linda Adarkwa the Head of administration of NSA in Kumasi as the one who gave her the fake tickets to sell. Edwin Asante Boateng was also arrested by the same supporters for the same reason.  According to a notice from Kumasi Asante Kotoko, the NSA staff were cracked down with the help of the Vigilant Supporters. MCE of Jaman South Donates Sports Materials to Drobo M/A Primary School. The Municipal Chief Executive for Jaman South, Hon. Andrews Bediako has presented sporting materials to Drobo M/A Primary school. The items included a sets of jerseys and football to support the school football team.  Hon. Andrews Bediako said, the donation of the items was his contribution towards sports promotion and improvement of the standard of education in the constituency and believes a gift of this nature will help the school and the students to nurture their talent in the field of sports. Sunyani East MP cuts Sod for a Fifa-Standard Pitch. The Member of Parliament of the Sunyani East Constituency, Hon Kwasi Ameyaw-Cheremeh together with his Municipal Chief Executive of the Area, Hon. Ansu Kumi on Monday 19th June 2023, cut sod for the construction of the first Fifa-standard astroturf pitch and ancillary facilities at Penkwasi “Sakora Park” in the Sunyani East Constituency which is expected to be completed within six months.  The project, according to the contractor, Wembley Sports Construction CO. LTD encapsulates a standard football pitch, 500 seated stands, a VIP seating area, a changing room and a floodlighting system. He again stressed that, before 2017, the entire country could only boast of 2 astroturfs belonging to individuals, however, the NPP government has so far constructed some 128 of the pitches across the country, a feed he indicated is a milestone for sports in Africa. The Berekum Circuit Court presided over by His Lordship Osei Kofi Amoako has sentenced a 21-year-old resident of Dwenem in Jaman South Municipality of the Bono Region, Gideon Asuako, to 7 years imprisonment for stealing. Gideon and an accomplice stole a portion of an artificial grass meant for the construction of astroturf at Faaman in the Municipality. Gideon Asuako was arrested on July 4, 2022, at his hideout to assist with police investigations into the missing items. He was slapped with three counts of unlawful entry, unlawful damage, and stealing before the Berekum Circuit Court. He pleaded guilty to all charges and was sentenced on his own plea. Asante Kotoko F.C Midfielder Stephen Amankona Honoured by Chief of Jinijini.

The Ghanaian professional football player of Kumasi Asante Kotoko Football Club, Stephen Amankona has been honored in his home town Jinijini in the Berekum West District capital of the Bono Region.  The player was highly welcomed to the town by the Chief of Jinijini, Nana Tutu Baffour Asare II, supporters of  Asante Kotoko FC, political leaders, Concern Citizens of Jinijini, and other dignitaries.  Jinijini Hene who Organized the event emphasized the need for the indigenous to support their hero to achieve a higher height in his career.  The event was full of fun to honor their industrious son Stephen Amankona as the chief charge on the youth in the town to emulate what Stephen Amankona has done in his football career.  At the ceremony was the Bono Regional New Patriotic Party (NPP) Women's Organizer, Madam Doris Asomah together with the Berekum West Constituency Executives Chairman, Peter Asomah Boampong was in attendance to support the hero's welcome of Stephen Amankona

The president of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Amaju Pinnick, has revealed details of the meeting of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) Exco on Thursday. Pinnick said the FIFA Rankings for November would be used to determine the seeding for the CAF World Cup qualifying Draws in January. He said: “The CAF Executive Committee met and decided that the last FIFA Rankings in November will be used for the World Cup Draws.” The 2022 World Cup play-off draw would be held on January 26. The first leg fixtures will take place at the lower-ranked team’s home. The higher teams that have qualified for the playoffs are Senegal, Morocco, Tunisia, Algeria, Nigeria. The lower-ranked teams are Egypt, Cameroon, Ghana, Mali, Congo DR.
