UTV ATTACKERS: 16 PERSONS HOLIGANS SENTENCED TO A FINE OF GHC2,400.00 FOR INVADING THE PREMISES OF THE STATION.  The 16 accused persons who invaded the United Television (UTV) studios at Tesano in the Greater Accra Region on 7th October 2023, have been convicted and sentenced to a fine by the Achimota District Court.   Following a report by the management of United Television (UTV) and the Ministry of Information on 7th October 2023,  that the convicted persons had entered the UTV Studios and disrupted a live programme, the Police proceeded to arrest them on the premises of UTV. They were subsequently charged for being on the premises for unlawful purpose and arraigned before court today, 16th October 2023. The accused persons pleaded guilty to the charge against them. They were, therefore, convicted on their own pleas and sentenced to a fine of 200 penalty units each which when translated will amount to Ghc2,400.00 in legal terms. BREAKING NEWS! Wendy Shay was involved in a Fatal Accident. Rufftown Records signee, Wendy Shay has been involved in a fatal accident. The accident happened around midnight on Sunday, September 10 on the pokuase to Kwabenya highway in Accra. According to an eyewitness account, Wendy Shay collided with a Tipper Truck and escaped narrowly. Wendy Shay was reportedly driving on the road when the truck drove into her; in her bid to avoid the crash, she drove off and landed into a gutter, crashing her Jeep Wrangler. The eyewitness said that she was fine, however, she complained of a headache and is yet to be rushed to the hospital. Her team are currently on the scene of the accident trying to protect some of her valuables which were in the car with her. So far, no casualties have been reported and the current state of Wendy Shay and the tipper truck driver is unknown. There is yet to be more information from the management team of Wendy Shay. Akuapem Poloo to serve 90 days jail term as Court dismisses appeal. The High Court in Accra presided over by Justice Ruby Aryeetey has dismissed the appeal filed by Rosemond Alade Brown challenging her 90 days custodial sentence.   What this means is that Akuapem Poloo will now serve her 90 days jail term imposed on her by the Circuit Court. Ruling on the application by the convict asking the court to set aside the custodial sentence and replace it with a fine, the court said, the 90 days custodial sentence imposed on her was not excessive and harsh. The court while affirming the Circuit Court decision said, the punishment imposed was to cause much harm to the convict which will then become a deterrent to herself and others. To this end, the court said, the decision of the Circuit was right and the High Court will not interfere with it. MzGee quits job with TV3 and 3 FM. Ghanaian television and radio presenter, Gloria Akpene Nyarku-Acquah aka MzGee, has ended her working relationship with Media General. MzGee on TV3 The media house that runs TV3, 3 FM and others confirmed the resignation of MzGee in a statement signed by the Group Head, Corporate Affairs, Christopher Koney. According to the statement, MzGee’s resignation will take effect from 25th October 2021. “Management of the Media General Group wishes to announce the resignation of Gloria Akpene Nyarko popularly known as MzGee effective 25th October 2021," the statement said.                       MzGee It continued that "MzGee has been a valuable addition to the Group and her contribution is appreciated.
