SAFETY NET PROJECT KICK START IN 9 COMMUNITIES IN KINTAMPO SOUTH. Over 50 members from 9 communities in the Kintampo South district have been engaged in the Ghana Safety Net Project to manage community projects that will generate some revenues for their respective communities. The beneficiary communities are, Mansie, Ayorya, Weila, Chara Kwabia, Attakrom, Akora, and the rest, will be able to generate hundreds of thousands each farming season from their 50-acre cashew farms established. The workers receive over Nine Hundred Ghana cedis each month for their casual working days on the farms. At a short ceremony at Mansie to officially hand over the project to the communities, the beneficiaries lauded the government for the initiative and also praised their Member of Parliament for selecting their communities. Watch Video: K&A Farms an emerging Pig Farm Raising Pigs on a large scale in Berekum.  K&A Pig Farms is one of the animal farm establishments that has emerged at Butokrom in the Berekum West District of the Bono region. The farm which is owned and operated by Mr Ernest Ohene Korang for the past 2 years is raising pigs and other farm animals to boost the socio-economic development in the Berekum West District. Speaking to the CEO, Mr Ohene Korang said, the vision is to help reduce the unemployment situation in the country hence his plan to expand the business to employ more people to reduce the rate of unemployment in Ghana. Mr. Korang who now lives in the USA is urging all his other colleagues abroad to emulate his example to support the country by way of opening businesses for others to get some work to do. Berekum District Cocoa Farmers Ask to Increase Cocoa Production Through CocoaBod Mechanism at Jinijini.

Bono Regional Cocoa Health and Extension Division Organises Training Exercise for Cocoa Farmers in Berekum. The Bono Regional Cocoa Health and Extension Division on Wednesday 29th/March 2023 organised a training session for the farmers in the Berekum Cocoa District. The training drew several organised Cocoa farmers and Co-operatives Associations in the Berekum District from Fetentaa, Amomaso, Benkasa, Mpatasei, Jinijini, Nanasuano and other communities to be trained in the various stages of cocoa farming activities as farmers. The Bono Regional Cocoa Extension Officer, Mr Stephen Asamoah took the farmers in all the processes that Ghana CocoaBod is expecting from the farmers to undergo through training and have much knowledge in Pruning, Pollination, CODAPEC-HI-TECH and Cocoa Management Systems (CMS) to help increase the cocoa production yields in the country. Berekum Municipal Ghana Cocoa Farmers Association Call on Government for Cocoa Price Increase to Ghc1000.00.  The Ghana Cocoa Farmers Association together with it's Chief Farmers in Berekum East Municipality of the Bono Region have called on the government of Ghana and Ghana Cocoa Board as a matter of urgency to increase the price of cocoa from the current price of GHC660.00 per bag to Ghc1000.00 in the 2022 -2023 cocoa season. Speaking at a press conference in Berekum, the secretary of the Association, Nana Kwadwo Baobeng said, the high cost of building materials, agro inputs, fuel prices, utility services and transportation fares has brought an untold burden to the lives of Ghana cocoa farmers hence the reason for calling on the government to increase the price of cocoa.
