The Acting Traditional Council President of Berekum Traditional Area of the Bono region, Osaberima Yeboah Dartey on Tuesday 19th August, 2025 has debunked a media publication by GhanaWeb on 18th August, 2025 claiming that the Chief of Senase and the Kontihene of Berekum, Osahene Asoma Agyeman Sabi II that, the traditional council has followed the due process in the selection of a successful and rightful candidate to be outdoor soon to occupy the paramount seat of Berekum Traditional Area after the demise of the late paramount Chief Omanhene Dasebre Dr. Amankona Diewuo II. Manhyia Palace Officially Announced The Passing of Asantehemaa, Nana Afia Konadu Yiadom III. Manhyia Palace has officially confirmed and announced the death of Asantehemaa by Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II during a meeting of the Asanteman Council today Monday 11th August, 2025 at the Manhyia Palace. Nana Konadu Yiadom III passed away at the age of 98. She was enstooled on February 6, 2017, and was publicly outdoored on May 6, 2017.  She died on Thursday, August 7, 2025. Her one week observation and celebration has been scheduled for Thursday, August 21, 2025. Nana Konadu Yiadom III was the 14th Asantehemaa.  She succeeded her mother, Nana Afia Kobi Serwaa Ampem II, who ruled from 1977 until her death on November 15, 2016, at the age of 109. The Chief of Asuntene-Watchman traditional area in the Bono Region, Nana Yeboah Asiamah, has installed new Sub-Chiefs to cooperate with him to develop Asuntene community. A ceremony was held at the Asuntene-watchman durbar grounds to initiate a sixteen sub-Chiefs and queens from various divisions in the community. The sixteen divisional chiefs and queens successfully went through the various traditional rites to confirm them traditionally, swore the oath of allegiance and officially accepted as members of Asuntene-watchman traditional area on 14th October, 2024. Nkoranza Traditional Council Opposes Mo Traditional Area's Yam Festival Celebration in Kintampo. Nana Awiti Kuffuor II, Kintampo Hene, has expressed strong opposition to the planned celebration of the Yam festival by the Omanhene of Mo traditional area, Nana Kwaku Danquah III, in Kintampo, Bono East Region. At a press conference held on 25th September, 2024, Nana Awiti Kuffuor II stated that the celebration, scheduled for October 4th to 6th, 2024, contravene traditional and customary practices. "The 1924 Gold Coast Chieftaincy List clearly indicates that Kintampo is not a Mo town, and we cannot allow this breach of tradition", he emphasized. Nana Adwoa Afranowaa has been selected by the Offinso Akokondease royal family and kingmakers to serve as the queen mother of the community. She will be publicly presented in the next Akwasidae after being formally introduced to the Ashantehene, Otumfuor Osei Tutu and the Queen Mother of Ashantiman. Nana Adwoa Afranowaa will take over from Nana Ama Serwaa Nyarko, who was removed from her position by the Ashantehene Otumfuor Osei Tutu due to her blatant disregard for the kingdom. Nkoranza Traditional Council Rejects Mo Paramount Stool's Claims Over Disputed Lands and Chieftaincy Issues. A press release issued by the Nkoranza Traditional Council, in the Bono East Region, read by the Omanhene/President of the Nkoranza Traditional Area, Nana Kwame Baffoe IV, has brought to light a longstanding dispute between the council and the Mo Paramount Stool over land ownership and chieftaincy. The council strongly objects to the Mo Paramount Stool's recent installation of a new chief and claiming to certain lands, including the Kintampo Falls and Yam Market. According to the Nana Kwame Baffoe IV, the Mo Paramount Stool's actions are unlawful and violate the boundaries established by the British Colonial Administration in 1919.
