Berekum will today receive two ambulances for both east and west constituencies.

Government ready to distribute 307 Ambulances Today - Oppong-Nkrumah The commissioning and distribution of 307 Ambulances to all the 275 constituencies nationwide as part of efforts to improve emergency healthcare delivery in Ghana would take place today, January 28. Mr Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, the Information Minister, who announced this at a news conference in Accra on Sunday, said the digitised ICT system, tracking devices and labelling had been fixed on the Ambulances and ready for distribution. The Ghana Ambulance Service has signed a five-year Service and Maintenance Agreement with the Suppliers to ensure servicing and maintenance of the Ambulances. Mr Oppong Nkrumah said 450 Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) drivers out of the 575 who were cleared for recruitment had been trained. Berekum DOVVSU searches for a mother of 7 months twin babies dumped at a refuse site.

7 MONTHS OLD TWINS DUMPED AT A  REFUSE SITE IN BEREKUM A set of 7 months old twins were found dead at the Berekum Zongo toilet vicinity. According Mr. Kwame ABTS who chanced on the twins on his way to the gym this morning, the babies were left around the Zongo toilet. He said that, the Omanhemaa of Berekum, Nana Akosua Ameyaahene III was informed about the incidence which she asked them to get a white cloth to wrapped them afterwards put them in a babies coffin. He said they later reported the case to the Berekum Police Domestic Violence and Victim Support Unit DOVVSU to continue with  investigations. The bodies have since been deposited at the Holy Family Hospital in Berekum. SHANXI SIJAN GROUP CO LTD. TO CONSTRUCT 14KM ROADS REHABILITATION IN BEREKUM. A Chinese company, Shanxi Sijan Group Ltd has been awarded to construct a 14km roads rehabilitation in the Berekum East Municipal of the Bono Region. The project is under phases of rehabilitation of Berekum town roads and will first phase cover 7.80km whiles the second phase will also cover a 6.24km roads. BEREKUM WEST MP SUPPLIES 2000 DESKS TO SCHOOLS. The Member of Parliament of the Berekum West Constituency of the Bono Region who also doubles as the Deputy Minister of Railways Development, Hon. Kwaku Agyenim Boateng has fulfilled a promised made to the teachers and students of the 25 Basic and Junior High Schools in the constituency. GHANA WATER COMPANY LTD IN BEREKUM TO DEMOLISHED ENCROACHED BUILDINGS ON THEIR LAND. The over One hundred (100) acres of land reserved for the Ghana Water Company Ltd in the Berekum Municipality of the Bono Region has been encroached by some citizens in the town. The Lands Commission has intended to demolish  some of the structures built on the land by encroachers. However, this has become a tug of war between the traditional authorities and the developers leading to the destruction of the new pillars demarcated by the GWCL. Some of the affected developers claim they have titles to the pieces of land, but the Ghana Water Company is claiming ownership and hence the move to demolish their properties, is a mind blowing. Berekum BATCCU holds 21st AGM

BATCCU HOLDS 21ST ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING. The Berekum Area Teachers Cooperative Credit Union (BATCCU) in the Bono Region has held their 21st Annual General Meeting with their members calling on them to continue having hope in the union. The Manager Mr. James Kwaku Yabedo aka Aban Ketewoe said BATTCU has chalked many success over the years and encouraged members to keep working with the union. He said the credit union belongs to the members and the shares of the credit union has been maintained for over 10 years which has now increased from Ghc100.00 per share to Ghc200.00 and all members are entreated to adhere to the the new arrangements of the share before the close of March 2020.
