Prez Nominee for Sunyani Municipal Confirmed.

SUNYANI EAST CONSTITUENCY SECRETARY CONFIRMED AS CHIEF EXECUTIVE FOR SUNYANI MUNICIPAL. Mr Ansu Kumi a tutor and the constituency Secretary for the New Patriotic Party in the Sunyani East, has been comfirmed as the Municipal Chief Executive for Sunyani. Mr Kumi whose confirmation received bipartisan support, polled 40 out of the 47 total valid votes, a nomination which needed two-thirds of assembly members present and voting.  The confirmation was supervised by the Bono Regional Minister Justina Owusu-Banahene and witnessed by the Regional Chairman Kwame Baffoe Abronye and the Member of Parliament for the area, Hon Akwasi Ameyaw-Cheremeh. Speaking before the comfirmation, the Member of Parliament Hon Akwasi Ameyaw-Cheremeh said he is optimistic about the nominee having the full endorsement of the assembly members after the voting and appealed for unity during his reign.

Berekum East Municipal Assembly Endorsed Hon. Kofi Adjei with 100% Votes.

BEREKUM EAST ASSEMBLY CONFIRMS GOVERNMENT NOMINEE WITH 100% ENDORSEMENT. The Berekum East Municipal Assembly have on Thursday 30th September, 2021 overwhelmingly confirmed the president’s nominee Hon. Kofi Adjei for the Municipality as the assembly members have given him a 100% endorsement. Supervising the comfirmation were the Bono Regional Minister Justina Owusu-Banahene and the Bono Regional Chairman Kwame Baffoe Abronye. This is the fifth confirmation in the last few days, the first to be confirmed was the Sunyani West, followed by Berekum West, Dormaa West and Dormaa East respectively. Hon. Kofi Adjei in his speech has pledge to continue the developmental agenda for the people in the Municipality and call on the Assembly Members to support him develop the lives of the people.

Tamale Branch of VRA/NEDCo Senior Staff Groups to Withdraw Services in the Tamale Metropolis and its Environs.

TAMALE BRANCH OF VRA/NEDCO SENIOR STAFF ASSOCIATION (SSA) TO WITHDRAW SERVICES IN THE TAMALE METROPOLIS AND IT'S ENVIRONS.  The leadership of VRA/NEDCo Staff Groups in the Tamale Metropolis has passed a resolution on September 27th 2021 to withdraw some of their services in the Tamale Metropolis and it's environs in the Northern Region of Ghana.  According to the statement the leadership issued on passing the resolution is a result of some recent attacks and vandalization of the Tamale Northern Area Office of NEDCo, and private vehicles by some irate youth in the Tamale Metropolis.  The groups statement continued with several attacks on staffs and property of VRA/NEDCo over the past years from 2016 till date which is unbearable to them hence the decision to withdraw their services as a measure to resolve the situation.  Below are the full statement of the resolution passed by the leadership of the Staff Association.   Story by Opamago Paparichy. 

NIA Regular Registration For Ghana Card Free, Fhc250 Only For Premium Services

Regular registration for Ghana Card free, GH¢250 only for premium service – NIA The National Identification Authority has clarified that the GH¢250 fee for the Ghana Card registration is only for applicants seeking premium services. Responding to viral posts suggesting that all applicants had to pay GH¢250, the authority’s acting Head of Corporate Affairs, Abudu Abdul-Ganiyu, assured that there was a free option for all Ghanaians seeking the Ghana Card. “This write-up is erroneous, it seeks to misinform the general public and I come your way to reiterate that even beyond the mass registration, registration that will be taking place at our regional and district offices will be free for all Ghanaians,” he said.   A GH¢30 fee will only be required for the replacement of Ghana Cards or when an update requires that a new card is printed.   The premium registration currently only takes place at the authority’s headquarters. Dormaa East Assembly Members Endorse District Chief Executive Hon. Emmanuel Agyeman with 100% YES. The President Akufo-Addo's nominee for the Dormaa East District Assembly, Hon. Emmanuel Akwasi Agyeman has been overwhelmingly confirmed as the new District Chief Executive of the area on Wednesday 29th September, 2021. Dormaa West Assembly Members Endorse New District Chief Executive with 100% YES. The President Akufo-Addo's nominee for the Dormaa West District Assembly, Hon Francis K. Oppong has been overwhelmingly confirmed as the new District Chief Executive of the area on Wednesday 29th September, 2021. A number of 15 Assembly Members who participated in his confirmation, voted ‘Yes’, giving him a 100% resounding confirmation. Tano North Assembly Members Endorsed MCE With 100% Votes.

TANO NORTH ASSEMBLY MEMBERS ENDORSED HON. ERNEST KWATENG AS MCE. The Assembly Members of Tano North Municipal Assembly  in the Ahafo Region has confirmed Hon. Ernest Kwanteng as the MCE for the area. He pulled 36 votes representing 100% after he was reappointed by the President to continue his good works. The election was conductor by the electoral commission and it was witness by the Ahafo Regional Minister, the Traditional authorities, Opinion leaders and Assembly Members among others. Hon. Ernest Kwanteng in an interview with commended the President Nana Akufo-Addo for the reappointment as the MCE for the area. He thanked the assembly members for endorsing him for the second time and promised to work with them all the time. Hon. Assembly Members Confirmed Tano South Municipal Chief Executive with 100% Victory. The Assembly Members in the Tano South Municipality of the Ahafo Region has endorsed the President nominee, Collins Offenem Takyi as Municipal Chief Executive ( MCE ) for the area. On his endorsement, 54 Assembly Members voted (Yes) which represent 93% while 4 Voted (No) out of the total 57 Assembly members in the house. After the endorsement, Municipal Chief Executive, Collins Offenem Takyi, expressed his appreciation for the huge endorsement by the Assembly Members in the Municipality. He therefore urged the Assembly members that he will work together with them to improve the developmental standards of the municipality. BEREKUM WEST ASSEMBLY CONFIRMS GOVERNMENT NOMINEE WITH 100% ENDORSEMENT. The Berekum West District Assembly have overwhelmingly confirmed the president’s nominee for the district as the assembly members have given the nominee a 100% endorsement. The confirmation ceremony which took place at the Presbyterian Church at Jinijini saw, traditional authorities and many concerned natives gracing the occasion. Prior to the confirmation, the Bono Regional Minister, Justina Owusu-Banahene seized the opportunity to urge the Assembly members to work together to uphold the unity of the assembly. Sunyani West MCE Overwhelmingly Confirmed by Assembly Members.

BONO REGION CONFIRMS FIRST GOVERNMENT NOMINEE AT SUNYANI WEST. Members of the Sunyani West Municipal Assembly have overwhelmingly voted to confirm Mr. Kusi Boadu as the new Municipal Chief Executive. He polled 38 votes of the 55 valid votes cast to secure a 69% confirmation from the jubilant Assembly Members. The election, which was supervised by the Bono Regional Minister Justina Owusu-Banahene and officials of the Electoral Commission was organised smoothly at the forecourt of the assembly. Mr Kusi Boadum who survived a fatal accident some few weeks ago, upon taking the oath of office after his victory, expressed his gratitude to the members of the assembly for his confirmation and gave assurances that he will consult and work with them and all relevant stakeholders towards the development of the municipality.
