Nkoranza North: Busunya SDA JHS Wins NCCE Independence Day Quiz Competition. The National Commission for Civic Education in Nkoranza North in the Bono East Region has organised quiz and Independence Day Constitution Game Competition at Busunya SDA Central Church on the 10th March for basic schools. The event, organized by the National Commission for Civic Education Nkoranza North and sponsored by the head office in Accra, brought together four schools in the Busunya town district to promote civic awareness and education among pupils.  The participating schools were Busunya SDA JHS, Busunya Methodist JHS, Busunya Anglican JHS, and Busunya Roman Catholic School Junior High School. Young leaders have been advised to consider their positions as a yardstick to measure their success by leveraging opportunities associated with their leadership roles.  This assertion was made by Mr. Samuel Osei Sarkodie (SOS), the New Juaben North constituency NPP youth organizer, during an Orientation and Leadership Summit for SRC executives on Friday, 7th March 2025. Blending Queenship and Reading; Queen Mother of Kato Initiates Drop the Street Campaign. In an attempt to withdraw children from the street against streetism, the founder of Asuamah Kyere Community Mobile Library (AKCOMLIB-GH), Nana Afiah Siraa Ababio III who doubles as the queen mother of Berekum-Kato in the Berekum East Municipal of the Bono region, has undertaken a project to help the children off the streets. Nana Afiah Siraa stressed that, street children have become a worrying situation in the country whiles some children have found their abode in ghettos all because they lack the proper educational upbringing hence the plan to help them from the street through reading. UG'S PROCUREMENT PROCESS UNDER SCRUTINY: STAKEHOLDERS RAISE CONCERNS OVER MEDALS AND SCROLL SAGA. Confusion, debate, and pains continue to be among the latest graduands from the University of Ghana over failure of the authorities to provide the graduates with medals and scrolls.  Graduation ceremonies commenced on February 11, with over 15,000 undergraduate and graduate students receiving their degrees in 17 separate sessions over the last two weeks.  However, the graduates received their degrees without their medals and scroll holders (which they have paid for) due to last-minute procurement setbacks. According to a highly placed source within the universityā€™s procurement office, the decision to provide medals and scrolls for graduation ceremonies was made as far back as July 2024. Berekum Senior High School '98 Year Group Donates Computers to Alma Mater. Education, they say is a bedrock of every society therefore the 1998 year group of the Berekum Senior High School in the Berekum Municipal of the Bono region has donated a set of computers and it's accessories to their alma mater. At the gathering to present the items, the old students numbering over 30 presented 10 computers, ups, printer and among others to the school to help reduce the technology deficit facing the school. Speaking on behalf of the old students, Madam Benedicta Odame Appiah emphasised the need for the 98 year group to present their widow's mite to support their former school, because in this 21st century, information telecommunication technology has become very essential. Ghana Anti-Corruption Coalition in collaboration with Ghana Integrity Initiative and the US Embassy has team up to organised a public forum for some students of All for Christ Senior High and Technical School in Berekum East Constituency of the Bono Region on 22nd November 2024. The program which was facilitated by the Citizens Watch Ghana under the support of National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) to enlighten the first time-voters on their right to vote based on policies devoid of manipulations and influence. Ghanaians will on 7th December 2024, will exercise their franchise which some selected schools with first-time voters have been educated to understand the need to vote on issues and policies base. AKCOMLIB-GH Develops the Interest of Creative Arts in Berekum Children. AKCOMLIB-GH an educational non-governmental organisation (NGO) base in Berekum has organized a creative arts session for children in Berekum East Municipality of the Bono Region with the aim of developing their artistic talents and creativity.  The session was led by skilled facilitators who directed and encouraged the children to express themselves through various art forms visually. The program began with a drawing activity, where the children were asked to illustrate anything from their surroundings. Many of them depicted different animals and their natural habitats, showcasing a variety of birds, fish, and land animals in beautifully detailed sketches. The young artists then painted their drawings, adding vibrant colors to bring their creations to life. In the second part of the session, the pupils were introduced to clay molding.
