NPP STALWART Appeals to President Mahama To Contest 2028 Elections to Continue His Good Works-

A STALWART and financier of the opposition New Patriotic Party( NPP) Francis Opoku Agyemang in the Sunyani East Constituency of the Bono region, has appealed to Ghanaians to allow President Mahama to contest the 2028 elections to continue the good works he has started. 


As a result, he has also called on the National Democratic Congress(NDC), the NDC majority in Parliament and the Council of State to come together and reconsider the constitutional provision that bars a president from contesting again after a second term despite his achievements whilst in office. 


Mr. Francis Opoku Agyemang formerly domiciled in Germany and popularly known as 'Interbegamond',  contested Sunyani East NPP Constituency Chairmanship, vied for the position of Sunyani Municipal Chief Executive disclosed this yesterday in Sunyani during a press conference. 


According to him, he chose  21st September which is commemorated as Dr Kwame Nkrumah's day to announce his views because he sees  President Mahama as Dr  Kwame Nkrumah's  incarnate who the country lost painfully through overthrew and now yearning for for. I can see Dr Kwame in Nkrumah in Mahama. He pleads with president Mahama to reconsider his decision not contest again.  


'This country must be grateful to God for the second coming of President John Dramani Mahama because his style of governance is like Nkrumah and this is what the country yearns for since the overthrow of Nkrumah.


'It shall be another huge mistake to depend on a constitutional provision to refuse him the opportunity to lead the  country into prosperity'. 


Under the umbrella group of 'Voices of Patriotic Citizens' and aim at promoting  good governance, advocate right of citizens and responsibility, Mr Francis Opoku Agyemang said he intended to petition President John Dramani Mahama and call on him to accept the decision to contest again comes 2028 election. 


'As such i called on all well meaning Ghanaians and Chiefs to support us appeal to President Mahama to go for a third term. 


There is a reason why the people of Ghana voted overwhelmiyng for the NDC in parliament and they must not lose sight of that fact but make use of it. 


He explained further that the Voices of Patriotic Citizens with its slogan, 'Respect And Have the Nation at Heart' shall further petition fifteen august pliament and chiefs in the country to prevail upon them to call on the president to reconsider his decision.  


 He asked the country never to make the mistake they did during the Nkrumah's era, saying the country is now seeing his importance and wants him back which is impossible.


'I am a stalwart of the NPP and an active member of course, a financier and somebody who contested a chairmanship position of the party so I know what I am talking about. 


We cannot run the American system of governance here because America is over 250 years old so we need somebody with vision to carry us along into maturity for us to go their style every four years.


Even in Europe countries continue to vote for a good leader; Ghana we are starters, and If President Mahama is doing well I don't see the need to change him, he emphasised. I can assure you even in the NPP there are members who like what Mahama is doing and wish he continued but was afraid to come out and say it. They are all behind me'


He accused the NPP for just being loud but cannot do better when given the opportunity.


I have witnessed all governments since Nkrumah and seen that it is God who has given JDM back to Ghana to continue with what Nkrumah started. 


"It has been done in Ivory Coast, and other countries so Ghana is not different' he said.

25-Year-Old Young Man Electrocuted in Berekum . A suspected thief by the name Oboshie in his 25 years has been electrocuted at Berekum Nyamebekyere in the Berekum East Municipal of the Bono region . BEREKUM TRADITIONAL COUNCIL ACCEPT EIGHT GAZETTED CHIEFS

EIGHT (8) CHIEFS OF BEREKUM TRADITIONAL AREA GAZETTED AS DIVISIONAL CHIEFS IN BEREKUM TRADITIONAL COUNCIL. A number of eight (8) Chiefs in the Berekum Traditional Area have performed their oaths of secrecy to be gazetted as the divisional chiefs of Berekum Traditional Council. The chiefs, numbering 8, got their titles as "Osaberima" to be added to their traditional and rulership names. A high court judge, Justice Baayeh, on the 6th day of November 2018, led the chiefs to sworn in the oaths of secrecy before a certificates of recognition was issued to the chiefs as a divisional chiefs.
