BEREKUM AREA CHURCH OF PENTECOST PRESENTS BRAND NEW APSONIC MOTOR BIKE TO BEREKUM POLICE DIVISION. The Church of Pentecost in the Berekum Area of the Brong Ahafo Region in fulfilment of their corporate social responsibilities has done it again quite apart from painting the Berekum Divisional Police Headquarters 2 years ago. BEREKUM TRADITIONAL COUNCIL HOLDS STAKEHOLDERS MEETING WITH CITY AUTHORITIES IN BEREKUM. The President of the Berekum Traditional Council, Dasebre Dr Amankona Dewuo II together with the Omanhemaa Nana Akosua Ameyaahene III and all the Divisional Chiefs of Berekum Traditional council in the Brong Ahafo Region on Wednesday 6th February 2019 held a stakeholders meeting to summon all the institutional heads within both Berekum Municipal and Berekum West Assemblies respectively to appear before them to brief the traditional council about their various activities at their departments and the resources that goes into them. BEREKUM YOUTH PROVE  THEIR CITIZENSHIP POWER BUT NOT SPECTATORS OVER  POOR SERVICES OF NEDCo, VRA AND GRIDCo. The youth of Berekum in the Berekum Municipality of the Brong Ahafo Region on Monday 4th February, 2019 embarked on a demonstration to agitate for the reasons of poor services being rendered by NEDCo, VRA and GRIDCo. This was as a result of power outage for three days in the area. A group of Berekum youth numbering about 60 to 80 besieged the office of the Berekum branch of the NEDCo to enquire from the manager, Mr Eric Ofori the reason for the power outages for the past 3 days. The manger upon seeing the angry youth ran for his life to Berekum Divisional Police Headquarters for protection. The angry youth followed him to the police Headquarters. The timely intervention of the police saved the man from being lyunched by the youth. In place of his life, they deflated the tires of the NEDCo vehicle the manger was driving as at the time he went to the police Headquarters

FIRE DISASTER HITS BEREKUM MESTECH. Fire has Raze Down teachers bungalows of one Semi-detached bedrooms of Berekum Methodist Senior High and Technical School (MESTECH) in the Berekum Municipality of the Brong Ahafo Region on Wednesday 30th January, 2019 at about 2:30pm. The students of the school showed a great effort to put out the fire and it helped to save the building from  total destruction before the Ghana Fire Service Personnel came around to handle the situation. According to the reports gathered, it was the Assistant Girls Prefect of the school who first saw the fire and raised alarm for people and property to be rescued. So far 6 teachers have been affected during the fire outbreak. These include,  the school Burser and it's assistant, the school chaplain and some of the other staffs.                       BEREKUM WEST DCE OPENS DISTRICT EDUCATION OFFICE The Berekum West District Chief Executive (DCE) in the Brong Ahafo Region, Hon. Isaac Osei has opened the District Education Office at Jinjini the District capital to help facilitate educational progress in the district. Opening the office, Hon. Isaac Osei said, it was his wish to get the office for the staff of the directorate to begin work after he was appointed as the DCE and now the vision has come to pass. He said education is the bedrock of every society therefore advised the staff to work hard to bring total transformation in the education sector within the district. BEREKUM PEOPLE CAN'T BEAR UNSATISFACTORY ELECTRICITY POWER DISTRIBUTION SUPPLY The Electricity Power Distribution supply by Ghana Grid Company Limited GRIDCo, the Northern Electricity Development Company (NEDCo) and Volta River Authority (VRA) in both Berekum Municipality, Berekum West District, Dormaa East District, Dormaa West District, Dormaa Central Municipal, Drobo Municipal and Sampa respectively in the Brong Ahafo Region have become a topic for discussion in every evening as to how a electricity power is being interrupted severely with outages without notice in the day and night. The complaints of the people is that, the flactuations of power comes without any explanation by the service providers.
