BEREKUM AND IT'S ENVIRONS ARE IN TOTAL BLACKOUT FOR 3 DAYS-GRIDCo, VRA AND NEDCo HAS NO EXPLAINATION TO CITIZENS

BEREKUM PEOPLE CAN'T BEAR UNSATISFACTORY ELECTRICITY POWER DISTRIBUTION SUPPLY

The Electricity Power Distribution supply by Ghana Grid Company Limited GRIDCo, the Northern Electricity Development Company (NEDCo) and Volta River Authority (VRA) in both Berekum Municipality, Berekum West District, Dormaa East District, Dormaa West District, Dormaa Central Municipal, Drobo Municipal and Sampa respectively in the Brong Ahafo Region have become a topic for discussion in every evening as to how a electricity power is being interrupted severely with outages without notice in the day and night.
The complaints of the people is that, the flactuations of power comes without any explanation by the service providers.
For over one month Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays has been scheduled for 9 hours without power supply or out of power supply.
Even the return of power always comes with power outages for 4 or 5 times every evening before the power supply will be stabilize for the people to enjoy quality power.
The question many people are asking is that can't GRIDCo, NEDCo give them explaination to their customers as to how their services have become unmanageable? Their work have received the regrets of the people about the kind of services they are rendering to their service customers. According to the investigation Alrich24newsgh.com has gathered, a construction of high grade power extension is currently underway in Berekum off the Dormaa Ahenkro-Berekum road which a sub-station is being build for the purpose of upgrading the power distribution to help minimize the interruption of power outages the people are experiencing. The power interruptions has been the cause of that project to upgrade the power. The construction of sub-station is in the right direction but the management toward that sub-station construction have been very poor to provide negative services to the Berekum people and it's environs in terms of power supply.
The head of NEDCo Branch office in Berekum, Mr Eric Ofori speaking to media explained that, the regular power outages has been the result of the undersiz cable transporting power from Sunyani to Berekum. According to him, the 120mmsq cable that supply the power from Sunyani to Berekum was constructed in 1989/90's and is now old to supply the power capacity the people are demanding but said because of that a sub-station construction of 550mmsq cable power are underway to bring total transformation in the power distribution in Berekum.
He said, the power outages at times are planned through radio announcement 3days ahead to notify their customers for the work at the sub-station to continue but at times there are some unplanned ones which are caused by fault outages for that they do not have control over it.
He made emphasised of the number of electrical appliances their customers are using which also produces power outages since everybody wants to switch on their electrical gadgets after the power has been restored. He said all these factors contribute to the inconsistent power outages in the Berekum area.
Mr. Ofori as manager cannot give the vivid time the sub-station construction will be completed. When Alrich24newsgh.com spoke to some people in Berekum and it's environs, they argued that if their power supply has been halted with outages, there must be a reduction to the electricity bills they are being charged by NEDCo in these areas every month.
They also suggested that if the outages are done in the midnights for the construction of the sub-station it will help their businesses because day time power outages destroys their work and businesses.

  1. Berekum peoples should stop following Npp and Ndc parties and think of the future of the children because both parties don't think of the BEREKUMMAN
