According to the youth, until the power is restored nobody will leave the police Headquarters.
It took the Berekum police a lot of time to calm the people. The Municipal Police Commander Chief Supritendent Nicholas Opare Ofosu-Hene assured the youth during the demonstration that, the power will be restored by 1:00pm and true to his word the power was restored at exactly 12:30pm in the Monday afternoon which helped dispersed the crowd from any further disturbances at the Divisional Police Headquarters..
The youth demonstration against  NEDCo compelled the Brong Ahafo Regional Police Commander DCOP Owusu Boateng together with his Public Relations Officer to visit Berekum to access the situation.
The Municipal Police Commander said they are all happy to see peace restored to enable NEDCo and GRIDCo to continue with their work. He therefore assured the youth to remain calm as everything is on cause to ensure proper stabilization of electrical power in.
The Cooperates Affairs Manager of NEDCo Mr Kotoka Maxwell also added that it is not a planned thing not to supply power to the people of Berekum but rather, there is a real issue that need to be tackled.
