AKCOMLIB-GH was established to expand a reading club that began at my palace, where I helped children develop a love for reading. Today, AKCOMLIB-GH operates in several communities, including Berekum East, Berekum West, Dormaa East (Wamfie), Sunyani West

(Nsoatre), Jaman South (Drobo), and Asunafo South (Oppongkrom), with a vision to reach every child who deserves the joy of learning.

Through our “DROP THE STREETS, READ A BOOK A WEEK” initiative, we aim to reach children from ages 5 to 17, bringing books to their doorsteps hoping to build them a future that will take them out of the street by equipping them with employable skills. This isn’t just about reading—it’s about giving every child a chance to learn, grow, and dream.

However, this vision requires the strength of every community member:

1. Members of Parliament and the District Assembly, your backing can provide the resources and policies needed to make this a success.

2. Chiefs and community leaders, your endorsement and support will bring peace and create the needed environment for our children to value learning.

3. Parents, your guidance and encouragement at home can make reading a cherished habit for your children.

4. Teachers, we need your guidance in and outside of the classroom to nurture these young minds.

5. Children, you are our target; we need your commitment and dedication for learning and change.

With the support of our partners, we deliver to this noble community FREE 200 story books valued at 17,000GHC. Together, let us empower every child in Nkyenkyemam with the gift of reading, the gift of hope, and the promise of a brighter future.

The Chief of Nkyenkyemanmu together with other dignitaries inspected the books donated in an open public library for the children to also observe them to inculcate the habit of reading in their daily life.

Quite apart from the books the children were shared with an assorted soft drinks, water and biscuits to make their day enjoyable.
