Berekumman Citizens Association Commissions Mechanized Borehole Water For JINSS.
Water, they say is life but that have not been the situation of Jinijini Senior High School in the Berekum West District of the Bono Region since September 2017. The school have faced with water crisis till date until
Berekumman Citizens Association together with the Parent Teacher's Association PTA have finally addressed the issue.
The two associations resolved to rehabilitate an abandoned Borehole in the school campus.
The borehole which was started years ago by the PTA but turned into a white elephant is now mechanized and has been commissioned today 15th January, 2020.
Speaking at the Commissioning and Handing Over Ceremony, Evangelist Paul Osei Agyemang (Agyapasei) Founder for Berekumman Citizens Association, said the association has undertaken a lot of projects since its existence depicting their vision to ensure development in Berekum. He advised the students of the need to take good care it and to maintain the project for future generation.
He added that, education is paramount and urged them to take their studies serious as some of their challenges are being solved gradually.
He concluded that the association will not hesitate to support them whenever they fall on them.
The DCE of Berekum West District, Hon. Isaac Osei thanked the association for such a kind gesture to support the school in times like this. He continued that, it was through his efforts that the association came to their rescue.
According to him the President Nana Akuffo Addo is doing a lot to support education in the country but he cannot do it alone.
He then called on individual and organizations to also support the government achieve its aim of raising the quality of education in the country.
The Assistant Headmaster of the School, Mr. Moses Addea expressed his profound gratitude to the association and the PTA for completing the abandoned borehole in the school.
He outlined some of the challenges the school is now going through such as accomodation for teachers leaving them with low visibility of teachers on campus catering for over 2,500 students. He then appealed to the association and the general public to come to their aid.
He concluded that the school again faces transportation challenges and called for the girls dormatory to be fenced to protect the girls in the school.
In an interview with Alrich24newsgh.com, some of the students expressed their appreciation to the two associations. Adding that it is the end of an era of going through water crisis especially during the dry season. They boys also called for more support at their dormatory especially on their electricity issues and ironing bay.
