Berekum Traditional Council Debunks Claims Of Successful Candidate to Occupy the Berekum Paramount Seat.


The Acting Traditional Council President of Berekum Traditional Area of the Bono region, Osaberima Yeboah Dartey on Tuesday 19th August, 2025 has debunked a media publication by GhanaWeb on 18th August, 2025 claiming that the Chief of Senase and the Kontihene of Berekum, Osahene Asoma Agyeman Sabi II that, the traditional council has followed the due process in the selection of a successful and rightful candidate to be outdoor soon to occupy the paramount seat of Berekum Traditional Area after the demise of the late paramount Chief Omanhene Dasebre Dr. Amankona Diewuo II.

At a media engagement, Osaberima Yeboah Dartey stated emphatically that, no one has been rightfully selected or approved by the traditional council as the next person to occupy the paramouncy since the whole processes are being deliberated upon at the Manhyia Palace by Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.


 He therefore appeal to the people of Berekum to keep calm and maintain the peace they have enjoyed since in due time such announcement will be made at the right time when everything goes through.

On the other hand, the Kontihene of Berekum, Osahene Asoma Agyeman Sabi II has on his part also expressed his reaction against the allegations on him about the statement made that Berekum Traditional Council has rightfully selected the candidate for the traditional area which he claims he has never made such statement on any news platform or news publications.

He urged the people of Berekum to remain calm since he has not said such statement anywhere.
