BEREKUMMAN CITIZENS ASSOCIATION COMMENDS BEREKUM MUNICIPAL ASSEMBLY The Berekumman Citizens Association,  a well known Association in Berekum and Ghana as a whole, has commended the Berekum Municipal Assembly headed by Hon. Kofi Adjei and presided by Hon. Joseph Baffour Awuah respectively for demolishing the "wee" ghetto base situated at the two electoral areas in Berekum Amangoase and Kankoma which was funded by the municipal assembly. The Association which has branches and members all over the world has expressed their joy over the destruction of the 30 years "wee" base in the heart of the City. The Chairman of Operations , Master Ali Mohammed , in conversation with the media thanked the MCE, Hon. BEREKUM "WEE" GHETTO BASE DEMOLISHED BY MCE

                      BEREKUM "WEE" BASE DEMOLISHED FOR DEVELOPMENT. The over 30 years old 8 acres land that has been a hide out for some youth of Berekum popularly known as "wee" base has been demolished and cleared by the Berekum East Municipal Assembly in the Brong Region. Speaking with Alrich24newgh.com, the MCE Hon. Kofi Adjei, expressed his excitement to destroyed the "wee" base because according to him, he cannot spherehead the responsibility to sit down for some youth in Berekum to destroy as they have been involving themselves in illicit activities at the "wee" bases. He said the plan to demolished and cleared the ghetto base was to help build on the good image of Berekum rather than to sit down for such an activities to tarnished the Berekum's image. He also refuted the allegations that, Berekum is a place for wee ghettos as it has been perceived. He said, is never true and Berekum cannot be a town that lodges ghetto boys

NEW BEREKUM SUB-STATION NEDCo COPPER CABLES STOLEN

NEDCo COPPER CABLES STOLEN AT THE NEW BEREKUM SUB-STATION Barely a  month after the newly constructed 161Kv  substation in the Berekum Municipality of the Brong Region was commissioned by GRIDCo and consumers were hooked onto it by NEDCo,  the NEDCo end of the construction has suffered theft of copper cables. Out of the 22 towers connecting the new 161Kv substation (owned by GRIDCo) to the 34Kv substation (owned by NEDCo) , copper grounds have been stolen from 16 towers. At a briefing with members of the Berekum Municipal Assembly including the Member of Parliament for Berekum East Constituency, Hon. Dr. Kwabena Twum Nuamah and the Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Kofi Adjei, the Corporate Communications Manager of NEDCo Mr. Maxwell Kotoka explained that the copper grounds are a protective device to ensure that the towers do not get electrically charged during thunder and lightening. ICGC ACCRA ADENTA HOLY GHOST TEMPLE DONATES INCUBATOR TO BEREKUM HOLY FAMILY HOSPITAL

INTERNATIONAL CENTRAL GOSPEL CHURCH (ICGC) ADENTA FRAFRAHA DONATES INCUBATOR TO HOLY FAMILY HOSPITAL BEREKUM As part of the International Central Gospel Church (ICGC) 35th anniversary celebrations, the Adenta Frafraha branch of the Church, Holy Ghost Temple in the Greater Accra Region in collaboration with the Berekum branch of ICGC, Rohi Temple has on Tuesday 26th March, 2019 donated a brand new incubator to the Holy Family Hospital in Berekum of the Bono Region to help reduce neonatal death among the preterm babies. BEREKUM WEST DCE TO CONSTRUCT 14 MECHANIZED BOREHOLES IN THE DISTRICT

BEREKUM WEST DCE CUT SOD FOR CONSTRUCTION OF 4 MECHANIZED BOREHOLES FOR SELECTED COMMUNITIES The DCE for Berekum West District of Bono Region Hon. Isaac Osei, has today cut sod for the construction of mechanized boreholes for four selected communities in the district. The communities include Amankokwaa, Nanasuano, Abansere and Amomaso. These 4 communities are to get a mechanized borehole each to help them overcome the shortage of water in the various towns. This is the first phase of 14 mechanized borehole project to be constructed by the DCE in the district under the community water and sanitation project. The DCE first paid a courtesy call to the chief and people of Amankokwaa to break grounds to start the mechanized water project.
