Berekum NEDCo Station Control Room On Fire Causing Total Power Outage. A fire outbreak that broke around 4:30 am on Wednesday dawn on 21st December 2022 has destroyed the Northern Electricity Development Corporation (NEDCo) station control room leading to a total power outage in Berekum and its environs. The whole station is down now due to the fire outbreak that is believed to have destroyed the machines in the control room. The situation has also affected the whole of Berekum township, Drobo, Sampa, Wamfie and Dormaa Ahenkro as well as other communities. According to the management, a team of experts have been called to find out the possible means to restore power to stabilise the situation before the Christmas season. The cause of the fire is yet to ascertain by the management of NEDCo in Berekum but has called on their customers to inform them about the situation and their preparedness to rescue the situation. Tano South Physically Challenge Parents Hail Municipal Chief Executive and President Nana Akufo Addo for Coming to their Aid. Some physically challenge parents at Tano South Municipal of the Ahafo Region have hailed president Nana Akufo Addo's administration and the Municipal Chief Executive in the area, Honourable Collins Offenem Takyi for coming to their children's aid. According to them, some parents of people with disabilities are suffering especially in terms of financial support some visually impaired people because they cannot go to work find it difficult to survive in these difficult times but they thank the President for providing financial access to their children. Suhum, Parents Advised to Pay their Children’s School Fees on Time- El- Shaddai Proprietress. The Founder of El-Shaddai Prep School at Okorase a suburb of Suhum Municipality of the Eastern Region, Mrs Lucy Osei- Benpong has called on parents to pay their children’s fees early to enable the school to serve them better. She said delays in fee payment were a major setback to the school as some parents still owed fees for the last academic year. She noted that no institution could function well without the needed resources and therefore, appealed to parents who owed fees to endeavour to pay to facilitate teaching and learning.
