Sunyani Youth Organise Football Gala To Rally Support For Sammy Gyamfi.











YOUTH FROM various suburbs in the Sunyani Municipality in the Bono Region have come together and organised football  tournament to rally support for the CEO of Goldbod, Sammy Gyamfi and launched a fun club in his name. 


The tournament which took place at Penkwase Astroturf among eight teams  including Penkwase FC ( Sammy Gyamfi's residential area), Abesim, Fiapre, Zongo, Area One, Area Two, Dunase and Newtown was witnessed by city authorities especially members of the rulling National Democratic Congress( NDC).


Organisers say the intention is to launch a fun club 'Sammy Gyamfi Youth Alliance Fun Club' to engage in community development to support the needy in his name. 


They explained because Sammy Gyamfi  hails and and grew up in Sunyani during his school days it is only good for  everybody in the communities irrespective of political affiliation to benefit from his fit. 


 'We wish to use the fun club to promote  community development for Sammy Gyamfi for future position. He has done well to be appointed by President Mahama to head Goldbod. This is a great fit and no mean achievement so we are calling for for youth support from  Sunyani East Constittuency. The youth need to emulate his exemplary life,  said, Ernest Twene, the organizer and founder of Sammy Gyamfi Youth Alliance Fun Club.  


At the end of the tournament  Penkwasi FC( Sammy Gyamfi area team) won the trophy and was presented with Gh 20,000 as prize. Each team also received Gh 10,000 as appearance fee.


Odumase FM won the first runner -up and also received Gh10, 000 ss their cash prize.  In all,  the winner took away Gh 30,000 whiles the first runner-up, Odumase FC took 20,000 and the rest 10,000 each. 


Launching the fun club, the Sunyani East Member of Parliament,  Seid Mubarack  who represented Sammy Gyamfi and spoke on his behalf, was elated youth of Sunyani took the lead to launch a fun club to work for one of their own and not any other community. 


He called on all youth in the three regions of Bono, Bono East and Ahafo to join their efforts to contribute in cash or kind to work for development in various communities in the regions lack social amenities. 


He praised the teams for displaying great football talents saying the tournament has come to stay and shall be organized every year. He called on them to emulate the exemplary life style of Sammy Gyamfi in whatever field they find themselves by working hard, respectful and never to engage in politics of insult but display knowledge in their public discourse. 


Among the dignitaries who graced the occassion are the MCE of Sunyani Municipal Assembly, Vicent Antwi Agyei, MCE for Sunyani West District, Asante Boateng and the Sunyani East Constituency Chairman of the NDC, Stephen Kwame Adu..


The organizer and founder of Sammy Gyamfi Youth Alliance Fun Club, Ernest Twene emphasised the club is going to engage in  provision of community development projects including boreholes, clean up exercise in hospitals, provide sanitation and school facilities and help the needy such as the sick, widows and  orphans .

25-Year-Old Young Man Electrocuted in Berekum . A suspected thief by the name Oboshie in his 25 years has been electrocuted at Berekum Nyamebekyere in the Berekum East Municipal of the Bono region . According to eye-witnesses, the suspected thief's lifeless body was found on the food vendor metal container as he attempted to steal from the container of the vendor who operates in a metal container. BEREKUM TRADITIONAL COUNCIL ACCEPT EIGHT GAZETTED CHIEFS

EIGHT (8) CHIEFS OF BEREKUM TRADITIONAL AREA GAZETTED AS DIVISIONAL CHIEFS IN BEREKUM TRADITIONAL COUNCIL. A number of eight (8) Chiefs in the Berekum Traditional Area have performed their oaths of secrecy to be gazetted as the divisional chiefs of Berekum Traditional Council. The chiefs, numbering 8, got their titles as "Osaberima" to be added to their traditional and rulership names. A high court judge, Justice Baayeh, on the 6th day of November 2018, led the chiefs to sworn in the oaths of secrecy before a certificates of recognition was issued to the chiefs as a divisional chiefs. The gazetted 8 chiefs has been granted the opportunity and right to be part of any sittings of the traditional council and by so doing, all the 8 chiefs have been approved by the government of Ghana to be part of the judicial committee of the Berekum Traditional Council.
