SAFETY NET PROJECT KICK START IN 9 COMMUNITIES IN KINTAMPO SOUTH.
Over 50 members from 9 communities in the Kintampo South district have been engaged in the Ghana Safety Net Project to manage community projects that will generate some revenues for their respective communities. The beneficiary communities are, Mansie, Ayorya, Weila, Chara Kwabia, Attakrom, Akora, and the rest, will be able to generate hundreds of thousands each farming season from their 50-acre cashew farms established.
The workers receive over Nine Hundred Ghana cedis each month for their casual working days on the farms. At a short ceremony at Mansie to officially hand over the project to the communities, the beneficiaries lauded the government for the initiative and also praised their Member of Parliament for selecting their communities.
According to the farmers the project has impacting on their lives and believes it will bring chnage to their lives.
The District Director of Agric, Mrs. A. Suokwaa Ofori assured the people that, there will be a continues support for the project to ensures the sustainability of the project.
The MP for Kintampo South, Alexander Gyan, urged the chiefs and the people to own the project ans get involve in it so that they could get money for their community development.
