Watch video: Chairman Wontumi's Arrest Bail Conditions Secured. At long last, Hon. Bryan Achampong has secured sureties for the NPP Ashanti regional chairman Benard Antwi Bosiako aka Chairman Wontumi who arrested by EOCO within the week. Bryan Achampong role has bring to an end the detention wontumi gone through for his release and has been helpful to file documents beyond the stipulated amount of Ghc50 million bail conditions. According to his lawyer Hon. Andy Appiah Kubi, Chairman Wontumi was rescued by Hon. Bryan Achampong.  Local Miner and Businessman Pledges to Protect Water Bodies at Kwabeng Community Mining. A local miner and businessman Gama Emmanuel, has assured the community of Kwabeng in the Atiwa West District of the Eastern Region that he will never engage in activities that would harm the area's water bodies. Mr. Gama Emmanuel emphasized the importance of preserving the environment, particularly the community's sole water source. He highlighted his commitment to responsible mining practices, stating that he reclaims every land he works on and uses environmentally friendly methods. He differentiated his approach from destructive methods used by some miners, such as chanfan machines, which can pollute water bodies. The local miner and businessman also emphasized the benefits of mining to communities, including job creation, improved livelihoods, and transformation of remote villages. Suhum MCE Distributes Sanitary Pads to Mark Menstrual Health Day.  The Suhum Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Lydia Obenewaa Sarah has distributed  over 1,000 sanitary pads to adolescent female students from a cluster of schools in the Suhum Municipality in Eastern Region. She said the distribution of the sanitary pads is in fulfilment of the government's promised to supports all school-going menstruating girls to stay clean and healthy. She also announced plans to distributes more sanitary pads within the month. Menstruation is a normal and healthy part of life for women. Yet, as a normal as it is, menstruationis stigmatized around the world. We hope to change the negative perceptions of menstruation and menstruating girls, Lydia Obenewa. Hon.  EASTERN NORTH POLICE COMMAND  ARRESTS THREE SUSPECTS WITH 85 MAXI BAGS OF SUSPECTED INDIAN HEMP, WEIGHT 3999.1KG  IN THE AFRAM RIVER. The Eastern North Police Command has arrested three suspects for the unlawful possession of  contraband goods at Asuboni Ddumase in the Kwahu South municipality of the Eastern region.  The Eastern North Police Command, through special operation, has arrested three suspects, namely Confidence Amenuveve - 21, Michael Akuwaku- 17, and Abraham Adonu - 22 years for the possession of Indian hemp with total weight of 3999.1kg That's eighty-five maxi bags, one pump action gun, and two outboard motors from the suspects were retreived.  Upon interrogation by police, the suspects claimed to be waiting for a person named Felix who is believed to be their leader.   The suspects are currently in police custody, assisting ongoing investigation.  Source: Alrich24newsgh.blogspot.com
World Menstrial Hygiene Day: Berekum West Girl Child Education Unit and Think-Aid Foundation Celebrates the Occassion. The Berekum West District Education Directorate as part of their effort in promoting girl-child education has on 28th May, 2025 celebrated the World Menstrial Hygiene Day at Jinijini-the District capital of Berekum West District in the Bono region of Ghana. The event was in collaboration with ThinkAid Foundation, a non-governmental organisation, whose vision is to support the less privileged people in our communities. Thinkaid Foundation donated packs of sanitary pads to the Girls child unit coordinators during the event to be shared freely to the girls over 200 in attendance. President Mahama begins Thank-You Visit to three regions today from Bono East.  President John Dramani Mahama will address a durbar of chiefs and people of the Bono East region today 29th May, 2025 as he begins a three-region tour to thank Ghanaians for their massive votes in December 2024 elections.  The President will use the various durbars to announce priority development projects intended to create opportunities for the people's well-being.  On Friday, President Mahama will pay his Thank-You visit to Sunyani, the capital of the Bono region, and wrap up this leg on Saturday with a similar durbar at Goaso in the Ahafo region.
