Black Market Money Exchanger Shot Dead at Nkrankwanta.

A 33 year-old young man Jafet who operate as a black market money exchanger has been shot dead at Nkrankwanta in the Dormaa West District of the Bono region.


Eye witnesses explained that, Jafet who has been operating this business for many years was shot dead by two masked armed men with a motor bike at the Nkrankwanta lorry station bolting away with his money and at the time he was shot, he struggled with the armed men inside his shop to prevent them from stealing his money. 


According to the report, he has usually been operating this business especially during the cashew seasons where he do exchange money for cashew buyers from Ivory Coast and Ghana who wants to exchange CFA into Ghana cedis and the vice versa.


The incident happened in the evening of Tuesday 18th February,  2025 after Jafet has closed from his business and the armed men shot him and was pronounced dead at the Nkrankwanta government hospital.


The deceased was a full time drummer at the Nkrankwanta Chuch of Pentecost who most people relate to him since he established the business. 


The Nkrankwanta District Police Command has begun an investigation into the situation to arrest the perpetrators.

NSOATRE TRADITIONAL COUNCIL CONDEMNS THE VIOLENCE ACT THAT RESULTED THE DEATH OF KOTOKO SUPPORTER. The Nsoatre Traditional Council has condemns the uncouth behavour of some of the football fans that led to the untimely death of an ardent supporter of Kumasi Asante Football Club.  According to Nsuatre Traditional Council this  unfortunate behaviour happened on the stool land of Nsoatre which the council sees as unfortunate due to the cordial relationship between Nsoatreman and Asanteman which is dated back to 1740.
