Berekum East NPP/NDC Parliamentary Candidates Signed Peace Pact to Commit to Peace in 2024 Elections.
The Church of Pentecost in the Berekum Area has organised under the leadership of Apostle Robert Andoh has call the people of Berekum to help maintain peace before, during and after the 2024 general elections.
The two Parliamentary Candidates from both the NDC and NPP were tasked to sign a peace pact to ensure peace is attained before, during and after the 2024 elections.
At the lunch of Agent of Peace Campaign organised by the Church of Pentecost, the Acting Traditional Council President, Osaberima Yeboah Dartey II called on the people of Berekum to live in peace in this years general elections.
According to Osaberima Yeboah Dartey II, Berekum for years were established by the local people which made them earn the accolades the "Golden City" was not created by any government.
The Berekum Area Head of the Church of Pentecost, Apostle Robert K. Andoh also said, Christians are the torch barriers of peace therefore we must work towards it to achieve peace therefore the church can't sit idle hence the need to be proponent of peace.
He again explained that, Christ is the Prince of Peace and when peace exist, all kind of development can take effect from every part of the country so we should all work hard to maintain peace. He said the experiences learned from other countries in their post elections conflicts is a signal that we should all do what we can maintain the peace we have.
The MCE of Berekum East, Hon. Kofi Adjei also tasked the political parties to help maintain peace within the Constituency before, during and after the elections.
The media was also charged to be circumspect in their reportage, as well as making sure to prevent politicians to create tension in the airwaves during political discourse.
Among some of the diginitries that were present at the event includes the Area Head of the Church of Pentecost, Apostle Robert K. Andoh and all the District Pastors, Acting Berekum Traditional Council President, Osaberima Yeboah Darteh, Parliamentary Candidates from NPP and NDC, Honourable Nelson Kwaku Kyeremeh and Elder Simon Amparbeng Kyeremeh respectively, MCE of Berekum East Municipal, Hon. Kofi Adjei, Electoral Commission rep, Ghana Police Service rep, NCCE Municipal Director, Chairman of the Local Council of Churches, Bishop Dr. Frank Awuah and Executives, Supporters of Political Parties, Media and among others.
