OFFUMAN TRADITIONAL COUNCIL  LIFTS BAN ON SALE OF YAMS.

The Chiefs and people of Offuman in the Techiman North District of the Bono East region who are very well noted for the growing of yams in a larg quantities has lifted the ban on sale of yams after traditional authorities observed the initiation ceremony.


The Omanhene of Offuman  Traditional Council, Nana Gyan Brokuo ll who lead the ceremony to lift the ban of yam selling announced the sale starting from tomorrow Tuesday 9th July, 2024. 






The lift of the ban of yam sales brought joy to the yam farmers and sellers at Offuman because it has been another way to announce the production and sale of yams to traders.


Speaking to the chief of yam farmers, Nana Sakyere Daniel, thanked the Omanhene Nana Gyan Brokuo ll, and the offuman traditional council for lifting the ban of yam sales and urged all the yam sellers   across the country especial those in Accra, Kumasi, Sunyani, Cape Coast and the rest of the country to come to  Offuman from tomorrow Tuesday 9th July, 2024 and buy from the yams farmers which are very affordable. 


The Yam Queen Mother, Nana Afosaa on her part also expressed her appreciation to the Offuman traditional  council for lifting the ban on sale of yams and said, she believes this year is another opportunity for all yams sellers and buyers across the country to come to Offuman market to buy yams in large quantities in the town.


 She again called on the Techiman North District Assembly to help renovate the yam market in the town to help boost economic activities in the area.


Offuman Queen Mother Nana Akosua Amoba on behalf of the Offuman Omanhene also added that, most at times the farmers rely on banking loans for their farming and if they did not lift the ban, the farmers may incure loses which at the end will not help their farming activities therefore the ban has been lifted to help them get good market for this year yam season.

NSOATRE TRADITIONAL COUNCIL CONDEMNS THE VIOLENCE ACT THAT RESULTED THE DEATH OF KOTOKO SUPPORTER. The Nsoatre Traditional Council has condemns the uncouth behavour of some of the football fans that led to the untimely death of an ardent supporter of Kumasi Asante Football Club.  According to Nsuatre Traditional Council this  unfortunate behaviour happened on the stool land of Nsoatre which the council sees as unfortunate due to the cordial relationship between Nsoatreman and Asanteman which is dated back to 1740.
