Dormaa Presby Hospital partners KATH Eye Centre for free surgical eye care for Dormaa residents.

The Dormaa Ahenkro Presbyterian Hospital in strong partnership with the Okomfo Anokye Teaching Hospital eye Centre supported by the Himalayan Cataract Project (HCP) have embarked on 4-days free surgical eye care to provide better eyesight to the people of Dormaa Ahenkro in the Dormaa Central Municipality of the Bono Region and its surrounding communities.


Speaking to Newsmen, the General Manager of the Dormaa Presbyterian Hospital, Rev. Dr. Isaac Appiah Offei explained that about 13 eye specialists from the Okomfo Anokye Teaching Hospital Eye Centre in addition to other staff totalling a little over 40 are embarking on this free eye care program at the Dormaa Presbyterian Hospital, stressing that it's free of charge therefore patients must visit the hospital with only their Health Insurance cards to access a successful free eye care delivery.


He added that, the members of Parliament for the three Dormaa constituencies, Dormaa Central, Hon Kwaku Agyeman Manu, Dormaa East, Hon Paul Appraku Twum Barima and Hon Vincent Oppong Yaw Asamoah, of Dormaa West including other businesses within Dormaa-Ahenkro township supported the screening financially.


Some of the beneficiary patients expressed their appreciation to the management, staff and eye specialists from the Okomfo Anokye Teaching Hospital Eye Centre for the enormous services offered to them to improve their eyesight and vision. 


They appreciated the high standard of professionalism that was displayed by the surgeons.

NSOATRE TRADITIONAL COUNCIL CONDEMNS THE VIOLENCE ACT THAT RESULTED THE DEATH OF KOTOKO SUPPORTER. The Nsoatre Traditional Council has condemns the uncouth behavour of some of the football fans that led to the untimely death of an ardent supporter of Kumasi Asante Football Club.  According to Nsuatre Traditional Council this  unfortunate behaviour happened on the stool land of Nsoatre which the council sees as unfortunate due to the cordial relationship between Nsoatreman and Asanteman which is dated back to 1740.
