Allow Your Church Members To Be Enstool As Chiefs Despite Being a Christian - Evangelist Douglas Oduro.

There is no satanic about Christians Enstooling as Chiefs in our modern Christian life. Evangelist Douglas Oduro, the Centre Director of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana Guankobea Prayer and Retreat Centre Afranse (Yaw Tanor) has called on Christian leaders to allow their members to accept chieftaincy roles as chiefs in their various towns.

According to him, doing so offers them a golden opportunity of purifying and Christianize kings and queenship in society and should not allow such a precious opportunity to slip by a situation that can be used to evangelise our culture.

Evangelist Douglas Oduro speaking with Alri h24newsgh.com news reporter, Apelete Kofi-Michel, at a days capacity building on chieftaincy and rulership institution in Ghana for Chiefs and Queens in the Okyeman Development at Asamankese Municipal Areas.

He made this statement at the Guankobea Prayer and Retreat Centre at Afranse-Yaw Tanor during a Family Conference in 2023 to bring together both Christians and traditional rulers together.

He observed that the main challenge hindering Christians from becoming chiefs was the result of rituals associated with chieftaincy, but said that could be handled through dialogue between Christians and the traditional authorities.

Evangelist Douglas Oduro who is the Founder of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana Guankobea Prayer and Retreat Centre, (Afranse Yaw Tanor), said the pouring of libation for instance was a controversial topic which could not be condemned outright as incompatible with any form of Christianity, noting but a peculiar to Africa religion and also have become part and parcel of Judea-Christian tradition.

He said issues of periodic food and blood sacrifices and ancestral stools and worship could be looked at and re-interpreted for Christians, who are qualified to be made chiefs so they could rule their society with the fear of God, It is basically a leadership role and not so much of rituals, he said.

Osabarima Adu Darko, the Asamankese Chief who Chair the program, said there is no Satanic about Christians enstooling as chiefs. He said.

Presbyterian Church of Ghana Guankobea Prayer and Retreat Centre, some of the members also added their voices to the matter and said it is good for Christians to embrace the positions of being king or queen and never ignore such opportunities when they are being called on.
