Berekum East Municipal Security Committee settles chieftancy disputes between Mpatasei Chief and Queen mother.

BEREKUM MUSEC SETTLES MPATASIE CHIEFTAINCY DISPUTES

The Berekum EastvMunicipal Security Committee headed by the Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Kofi Adjei has today Tuesday 5th May, 2020 met with the Chief of Mpatasie, Nana Kyere Kumah II and Queen mother, Nana Akua Kyeraa to resolve a discord that enswed  between the two traditional leaders in the town. 

Representatives for the Queen mother were interrogated by the security committee on charges leveled against the chief but their explanations could not reach consideration of the committee. The Queen mother was then charged for disturbing the peace in the area and unlawfully destooling the chief of his rule over the past 23 years. They were advised to end all forms of dispute that will cost them their peace.

Nana Nyarko Akoma Amardo II, Queen mother of Kutre No. 2 was tasked to make sure unity and tranquility prevail among the two leaders in Mpatasie of which she agreed to see them smoke the paece pipe to enhance development in the Mpatasie township.

She promise to offer all the necessary support to bring back the love that existed between the two leaders.

Assembly member of Mpatasie-Pepaase electoral area, Hon. Gabriel Kyere added that so far as peace has prevailed, the youth must support the two leaders to deliver the mandate impose on them.

He said, Mpatasie needs a lot of development and that is what he wants everyone to support them achieve.



REJOINDER: 
NANA KYERE KUMAH IS THE CHIEF OF BEREKUM MPATASEI AND  NOT DESTOOLED. 

Nana Kyere Kumah II Chief of Mpatasei in Berekum East Municipal of the Bono Region has refuted claims that he has been destooled by the queen mother.  

According to him, all the charges are false with no merits for such an action to be taken against him. 
"The queen mother and the elders have no authority whatsoever to perform any rites to destool me".

Responding to some of the charges leveled against him, Nana explained that he has initiated a lot of projects for his people. These include siting a new land as cemetery, lobbied for a classroom block to be constructed, construction of KVIP toilet, supervised the construction of Berekum - Mpatasie road, renovation of palace, and plans are advanced to reconstruct the old palace among others.
He alleged that the Queen mother and some of the elders planned to tarnish his image after they were unable to account for monies generated to construct a market.

Nana Kyere Kumah II advised his people to remain calm as he has officially written to Berekum Traditional Council for necessary actions to be taken. Attached to this story is the seven (7) page points response from Nana Kyere Kumah II.  


Nana Kyere Kumah II concluded that he has full trust in the Traditional Council "Omanhene Daasebre Dr. Amankona Diawuo II is the head of the Berekum traditional council so I will wait on him for any further decisions to be taken against the Queen mother before I decide on the queen mother breaching traditional rites".



BEREKUM MPATASIE CHIEF DESTOOLED BY THE ELDERS IN THE TOWN AS RITUALS PERFORMED.

The Queen Mother of Mpatasie in the Berekum East Municipal of the Bono Region, Nana Akosua Kyeraa and her Elders on Monday 27th April, 2020 has destooled the chief of Mpatasie Nana Kyere Kuma over lack of strength to develop the town.

According to the queen mother, the chief is not supporting the development of the town. He has never spent a night in the town since he was enstooled as chief which has resulted into his inability to bring progress and development to the people in the town.

She explained that Nana Kuma does not respect the elders of the town including the queen mother. The chief oversaw bad people deficating at a unisex and dilapidated toilet; both male and female and nothing was done about it.
Nana Kofi Adjei an elder expressed displeasure over the attitude of the chief who has been autocratic in his decisions. He continued that there have not been any development under his watch and if he is allowed to rule the town their developments will lag behind.

Some of the youth in the town also expressed their joy over the actions taken by the Queen mother and her elders to destooled their chief.

According to them the Chief has caused the town a lot and are therefore grateful for the queen mother and her elders' decision.

Rituals were finally performed to destool Nana Kyere Kuma as Mpatasie Chief after 20 years of his rule.

Out of this act that MUSEC has met to disagree with this decision that was took by the queen mother and some elders in the town. Now peace has been restored in the town through the Breekum Municipal Security Committee and Nana Kyere Kumah II is still remains the cheif of Mpatasei.
