Omanhene of Berekum storms road construction sites to inspects ongoing road projects in Berekum.

BEREKUM TRADITIONAL COUNCIL INSPECTS ONGOING ROADS CONSTRUCTION.

The Berekum Traditional Council headed by Daasebre Dr. Amankona Diawuo II together with Nananom has inspected ongoing roads construction on the Berekum Zongo one way and Brenyekwa-Siekwa road in the Bono Region.

The Zongo one way road which is among the roads being constructed is challenged with unauthorized structures along the sides of the roads and is hampering construction.

Owners of the unauthorized structures have been given an ultimatum by the Berekum Municipal Assembly to remove them by the next two weeks through which the Traditional council took it upon themselves to visit them to have first hand information at the place.

The traditional authorities in their inspection have agreed with the assembly to provide a place for the owners of the containers for relocation.

Daasebre Dr. Amankona Diawuo II explained to the shop owners to agree and relocate but said after the construction of a drainage system along the road, nobody will be allowed to come back to occupy the place again.

Nananom continued to inspect another ongoing road construction on the Brenyekwa-Seikwa stretch of road.

In an interaction with the consultant assigned to J.Adom Construction Ltd, Mr. Appiah Frimpong said all indications depicts that the road will soon be completed and is going to have a dual carriage shape on that stretch.

Quite apart from the dual carriage design on it, all the drains along the roads will also be constructed.
The consultant again implored Nananom to  influence the contractor to speed up the works most especially at the Zongo one way where there is a Ghana water company pipe underground that can affect that portion of the road. This might cause delay on that road but said the project is to end by April this year.

On tour with Daasebre Dr. Amankona Diawuo II - Omanhene of Berekum were Osaberima Owusu Effah II, Osaberima Okwakwan Kwabena Owusu II, Osaberima Amo Tima Gyan II, Nana Nyarko Armardo II, the Municipal Chief Imam and others.
Daasebre Dr. Amankona Diawuo II speaking with Alrich24newsgh.com promised that, the traditional council will support the project to see it's completion even before the stipulated time.

THE SKY TRAIN SAGA—WIld Goose Chase. The Sky Train project which received considerable media coverage during Nana Akufo-Addo’s regime has resurfaced. This time, a purported amount of 2million dollars assigned for the project cannot be traced( according to Ghana’s Attorney General and Minister for Justice). Our investigation into the matter reveals  the following facts. 1.The erstwhile Ministry of Railways Development has stated categorically that government did not allocate any funds for the Sky Train Project.  2. The Ministry managed to support the preparation of a 300 page PRE-FEASIBILITY report which was the basis for discussions with an investor group, Ai Sky Train Consortium ( a subsidiary of Africa Investor Consortium based in South Africa). 3. GIIF ( Ghana Infrastructural Investment Fund) was set up in 2014 to partner the Private Sector to promote infrastructural development.
