BEREKUM TRADITIONAL COUNCIL ACCEPT EIGHT GAZETTED CHIEFS


EIGHT (8)  CHIEFS OF BEREKUM TRADITIONAL AREA GAZZETED AS DIVISIONAL CHIEFS IN BEREKUM TRADITIONAL COUNCIL

Eight (8) Chiefs of the Berekum Traditional Area have performed their oaths of secrecy to be gazzeted as the divisional chiefs of Berekum Traditional Council
The chiefs , numbering 8 ,have got a title "Osaberima" added to their traditional names.
The high court judge , Justice Baayeh, on the 6th November 2018 , led the chiefs to swear the oaths of secrecy before issuing the certificates of recognition .
The chiefs have been gazzeted to be part of any sittings of the traditional council and by so doing , all the 8 chiefs , have been approved by the government of Ghana to be part of the judicial committee of the Berekum Traditional Council.
The 8 chiefs gazzetted are Osaberima Kwabena Diawuo Owusu II, the Katohene and Werempemhene of Berekum, Osaberima Yeboah Dartey II, Nsaporhene and Benkumhene of Berekum, Osaberima Krobea Asante Nkum II, Abesaasihene and Ankobeahene of Berekum, Osaberima Kusi Yeboah II, Domfetehene and Nefahene of Berekum, Osaberima Ansu Dartey II, Ayemomhene and Apegyahene of Berekum, Osaberima Amo Tima Gyan II, Twafohene,  Osaberima Ofori Mensah, Oforikromhene and Mponuohene, Osaberima Agyei Kyere II, Akrofrohene and Atipimhene of Berekum
On behalf of the 8 gazetted chiefs, Osaberima Kwabena Diawuo Owusu II, thanked the High Court Judge and the Omanhene of Berekum Traditional Area ,Nana Dasebre Dr. Amankona Diawuo II for the honour done to them to be part of Berekum Traditional Council.
He said, now that the government has approved them, they will call for unity among the people of Berekum and will help seek for the progress of Berekum and its area with all their full strength and support.

Omanhene of Berekum Traditional Area, Dasebre Dr Amankona Diawuo II Passes On. The Omanhene of Berekum Traditional Area in the Berekum Municipal of the Bono Region Dasebre Dr Amankona Diawuo II has passed on. The announcement of the demise of the Berekum Traditional leader was done today Friday 9th June 2023 by the chief spiritualist of Berekum Nana Komfo Kofi who was asked to take care of the health of the paramount chief but on his announcement, the paramount chief could not make it but joined his ancestors. Dasebre Dr Amankona Diawuo II was a doctor by profession and an active Church elder of the Church of Pentecost who serve the people of Berekum with calm and peaceful leadership who seek to maintain peace and unity after 17 years of chieftaincy dispute during his reign as the paramount chief of Berekum. A Student of Ghana National College from Sunyani-Chiraa Scores 8A's in 2023 WASSCE.  A Senior High Student of Ghana National College in Cape Coast, Owusu Peprah Priscilla who hails from Chiraa in the Sunyani West Municipality of the Bono Region has also scored 8A's in the West Africa Secondary School Certificate Examination (WASSCE).  Her effort and the results she obtained have brought great joy to her family and the people of Chiraa without hesitation wishing her congratulations on most of the social media platforms. She started her basic education at Solomon Bennet Memorial School in Sunyani from her infancy.  Priscilla's family and well-wishers are appealing to the government as a matter of urgency to help ensure the right course of study will be offer to her at her tertiary education level.
