We cannot cancel your debt – ECG to Krobo Customers. The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has been explaining the issues surrounding the seeming misunderstanding with customers in the Yilo and Manya Krobo districts of the Eastern Region. The Company insists that residents legitimately used power between the period under contention and so the debt accumulated cannot be cancelled as demanded by the youth. In a statement issued by management of the Tema Region, who have oversight responsibility in the Krobo areas, the Company also denied claims that prepaid meters are being installed in those areas ostensibly to punish consumers for events three years ago – which resulted in the vandalisation of the Company’s office at Somanya. All these follow a demonstration by residents last Monday over the accumulated bills. The residents, mainly the youth, demanded a total cancellation of their bills of between 2014 and 2017, and rejected the move to install pre-paid meters. “We are tired of ECG, a

TAXI DRIVERS CRYING AS PRAGYIA TAKES OVER THEIR TAXI BUSINESS AT DABOASE.  Taxi drivers of Waasa-Daboase in the Wassa East District of the Western Region are lamenting about the collapse of their business in the district as a result of the introduction of the pragya business to the area. Apart from the Sekondi Takoradi Metropolitan Assembly which is yet to accept the activities of the pragyai business, the pragyai business has become a major transport service in other municipalities and districts in the western region of Ghana hence the collapse of taxi drivers activities. Some taxi drivers in Daboase has complained bitterly over the introduction of the pragyia in the country saying, their business has been affected and no longer lucrative since the pragya came into the system to compete with them. Two Kessben Media Presenters Resignations Brouhaha. Omanhene Yaw Adu Boakye and Nana Yaw Boamah. The twist in these two presenters resignations has been a brouhaha to the general public.  According to the report Omanhene Yaw Adu Boakye was Suspended For Misconduct but other reports says he resigned.   The management of Kessben Media says its flagship morning show host on Kessben FM, Omanhene Alvin Yaw Adu Boakye, was suspended indefinitely for misconduct. According to the management, Yaw Adu Boakye was last week suspended indefinitely. On Monday morning [November 22, 2021], it emerged that Omanehene Yaw Adu Boakye had reportedly resigned from Kessben FM. There are jobs graduates don’t have the skills for – Ken Ofori-Atta. Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta, has said observed there is a gap between what students learn in the universities and what industry requires of them when they graduate. He said while employers are looking for people to fill certain positions in their companies, they are unable to find graduates with the skills sets they are looking for. Speaking at 73rd Annual New Year School & Conference at the University of Ghana, the minister said there is the need for university training to be aligned with industry needs especially in the face of rising unemployment among the youth. Students of St. Paul R/C JHS Construct Classroom Blocks and Appeals for Support. The Students of St. Paul Roman Catholic Junior High School pupils at Tokuroano in the Krachi East Municipality of the Oti Region, has personally commenced construction of a 4-unit classroom blocks for teaching and learning. The pupils at the school study under tress with no classes available for them and when it rains they find it difficult to get to study. The construction of the mud classrooms has been necessitated by the refusal of their request for a new classroom blocks from the authorities after several attempts and proposals for new classrooms.  The Headmaster of the school, Mr Humphrey Agah said, the new classroom blocks would not only provide comfort when completed but also the congenial atmosphere for effective teaching and learning in the school.
