Abuakwa North YEA Office Power Disconnected Plunged into Darkness Over GHC 5,500 Debt.   The Youth Employment Agency (YEA) office in Abuakwa North has been left without electricity for several days after the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) disconnected power over an outstanding debt of GHC 5,500. The power cut, which stems from a seven-year-old unpaid bill, has brought all office operations to a standstill, raising concerns about the agency's ability to fulfill its mandate of addressing youth unemployment. Mr. Edmond Kwaku Dua, the newly appointed YEA Director for Abuakwa North, expressed his dismay upon resuming office to find it plunged into darkness. Suhum MCE Strengthens Ties with traditional leaders to spur development. The Municipal Chief Executive for Suhum Municipal in the Eastern Region, Hon. Lydia Ohenewa Sarah Afasi, has stepped up efforts to strengthen collaboration between traditional authorities and local government to accelerate development across the municipality. The MCE on Sunday as part of familiarity initiative, she paid a courtesy call on Osaberima Ayah Kofi, Omanhene of Suhum Traditional Area. According to her, the engagement would deepen collaboration between the municipal assembly and the traditional authorities, she said, building a healthy relationship with chiefs is the fundamental to ensure peace and progress in in Suhum.
