Jomoro MP Pushes for Adusuazo–Half Assini Road to Improve Accessibility and Boost Economic Activities.

The Member of Parliament for Jomoro Constituency in the Western Region, Dorcas Affo-Toffey, is championing efforts to establish an alternative road linking Adusuazo to Half Assini, the municipal capital of the Jomoro Municipality.

The aim is to improve accessibility, promote economic activities and enhance the living conditions of residents.

The driving distance from Adusuazo to Half Assini is approximately 12.4 kilometres, or about a 33-minute drive via Cambodia St, but residents spend several hours due to the current length of the road they ply on.

The proposed road project, which seeks to provide a shorter and more convenient route between Adusuazo and Half Assini, is expected to bring significant relief to residents, traders, farmers and other commuters who depend on road transportation to access essential services and conduct their daily activities.

The initiative is considered an important step towards opening up the municipal capital and improving connectivity between communities within the municipality.

One of the major benefits of the proposed road is improved access to healthcare.

Residents of Adusuazo and neighbouring communities are expected to have easier and faster access to healthcare facilities in Half Assini, particularly during medical emergencies when time is critical.

The road is also expected to reduce the stress and difficulties associated with travelling to the municipal capital.

By creating a shorter alternative route, commuters could save valuable time and reduce transportation-related inconveniences.

In addition, the proposed road is expected to provide a major boost to commercial activities within the municipality. Farmers, traders and small-scale business owners could benefit from easier transportation of agricultural produce and other goods to markets in Half Assini and surrounding communities.

This would help reduce the difficulties associated with transporting farm produce, improve market accessibility and create better opportunities for residents to expand their economic activities.

Beyond its immediate benefits, the alternative road is expected to contribute to the broader development of Jomoro by opening up communities, improving the movement of people and goods, and strengthening the connection between Adusuazo and the municipal capital.

The proposed Adusuazo–Half Assini road initiative reflects the importance of investing in accessible road infrastructure as a catalyst for rural development, improved healthcare delivery, commercial growth and social inclusion.

For residents of Adusuazo and surrounding communities, the proposed road represents more than just another transport route. It offers hope for easier access to essential services, reduced travel difficulties, improved business opportunities and stronger connections with the municipal capital.

As the initiative progresses, residents will be looking forward to its realisation, which could mark an important milestone in the development agenda of the Jomoro Municipality under the leadership and advocacy of their Member of Parliament, Madam Affo-Toffey.
