Kelpro Foundation Supports Over 60-Year-Old Man Fire Victim in Berekum.

Kelpro Foundation has extended a helping hand to Opanin Kojo Dartey, a blind man aged over 60 who lost his home and belongings to a fire disaster a year ago at Berekum-Mpatasie in the Berekum East Municipality of the Bono Region.

Opanin Kojo Dartey, who is married with children, lost everything when fire gutted his five-bedroom house, leaving him and his family homeless and struggling to meet their basic needs.

Moved by their plight, Kelpro Foundation, led by its team leader, Dr. Kelvin Bepagro, has donated assorted relief items and cash to support the family.

Dr. Bepagro emphasized the importance of extending a helping hand to the less privileged in society, explaining that the foundation's intervention was motivated by the need to support the elderly and vulnerable, particularly those affected by disasters.

He noted that giving to others is a command from God and urged the public not to hesitate to support people in need.

The items donated included food supplies such as rice, cooking oil, gari, salt, T-roll, and honey, as well as medicines, toiletries and other essential consumables. The foundation also presented the family with a cash donation of GH¢5,000.

Receiving the donation, Opanin Kojo Dartey expressed his profound gratitude to the Kelpro Foundation team for coming to his aid at a time when he and his family were struggling to overcome the effects of the disaster.

He said the donation would help ease the food shortages and other difficulties the family had been experiencing since the fire incident.

He prayed for God's blessings upon the foundation and its team for their kindness and support.

Meanwhile, the victim's wife, Madam Christiana Twumwaa, recounted the challenges the family had faced in surviving since the fire disaster, which occurred almost a year ago.

She expressed appreciation to the Kelpro Foundation for the timely intervention, saying the family had not expected to receive such substantial support like what they have received.
