Jomoro MP, Assembly Man, Extends Free NHIS Registration and Renewal to Nuba.

Residents of Nuba in the Jomoro Municipality of the Western Region have benefited from an extended free National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) registration and renewal exercise.

The free registration, embarked on by Assembly Member for the Nuba Electoral Area, Emmanuel Kwasie Amihere, popularly known as Ghanaman, with the support from the Member of Parliament for Jomoro, Dorcas Affo-Toffey, was aimed at helping more people in the community gain access to healthcare.

The initiative, which was initially organised for one day, was extended to two days during its second phase to allow more residents to register, renew their memberships and replace lost or damaged NHIS cards.

The first phase of the exercise recorded significant participation, with 75 people registering for the first time, 80 renewing their NHIS membership and 15 people undertaking card replacements, bringing the total number of beneficiaries to 170.

During the second phase, 133 residents registered for the NHIS for the first time, while 70 renewed their memberships and 50 others had their cards replaced.

The Assembly Member for the Nuba Electoral Area, Emmanuel Kwasie Amihere, expressed appreciation to the Member of Parliament for Jomoro and Deputy Minister of Transport, Dorcas Affo Toffey, as well as the Municipal Chief Executive, Benedict Boadi, for their continued support towards the people of Nuba.

According to him, the support from the two leaders contributed to the extension of the exercise, creating an opportunity for more residents to benefit.

The Assembly Member said the exercise had brought relief to residents, particularly those who might otherwise have faced difficulties accessing NHIS registration and renewal services.

He commended Hon. Dorcas Affo Toffey and Hon. Benedict Boadi for their commitment to the welfare of the people of Nuba and expressed hope that similar interventions would continue to support residents in the community.

He also urged residents who benefited from the exercise to make good use of their NHIS membership by seeking timely healthcare whenever necessary.

The Assembly Member reiterated his commitment to working with stakeholders to bring more development-orientated initiatives to the Nuba Electoral Area.

25-Year-Old Young Man Electrocuted in Berekum . A suspected thief by the name Oboshie in his 25 years has been electrocuted at Berekum Nyamebekyere in the Berekum East Municipal of the Bono region . BEREKUM TRADITIONAL COUNCIL ACCEPT EIGHT GAZETTED CHIEFS

EIGHT (8) CHIEFS OF BEREKUM TRADITIONAL AREA GAZETTED AS DIVISIONAL CHIEFS IN BEREKUM TRADITIONAL COUNCIL. A number of eight (8) Chiefs in the Berekum Traditional Area have performed their oaths of secrecy to be gazetted as the divisional chiefs of Berekum Traditional Council. The chiefs, numbering 8, got their titles as "Osaberima" to be added to their traditional and rulership names. A high court judge, Justice Baayeh, on the 6th day of November 2018, led the chiefs to sworn in the oaths of secrecy before a certificates of recognition was issued to the chiefs as a divisional chiefs.
