BEREKUM WEST DISTRICT EMERGES 2ND IN BONO REGION - DPAT 2025 ASSESSMENT.

Berekum West District Assembly among the 12 Municipal and Districts in the Bono region after the annual District Performance Assessment Tool (DAPT) in 2025 emerge in the second position.

According to the provisional results for the District Performance Assessment Tool (DPAT X) 2025, Berekum West positioned as one of the best performing districts in the entire Bono Region which all indications shows that the assembly deserves the commendation.

The Facts:

Out of 12 Districts in Bono:

- 1st - Berekum East: 65

- 2nd - Berekum West: 60

- 3rd - Banda: 59

Here is the breakdown of what les the district to emerge the second position of the DAPT.

Breakdown for Berekum West:

- Service Delivery Indicators: -38

- Performance Indicators: -22

- Total Score: -60

This achievement reflects hard work, good leadership, effective use of the District Assemblies Common Fund, and commitment to service delivery for our people.

The DCE, Hon Collins Asoma together with his Coordinating Director, the staff of the Assembly and all stakeholders contributed to this milestone of success and progress.

So far over 70 projects the assembly proposed to undertake in 2025, it has been able to complete over 50 of the projects.

25-Year-Old Young Man Electrocuted in Berekum . A suspected thief by the name Oboshie in his 25 years has been electrocuted at Berekum Nyamebekyere in the Berekum East Municipal of the Bono region . According to eye-witnesses, the suspected thief's lifeless body was found on the food vendor metal container as he attempted to steal from the container of the vendor who operates in a metal container. His death attracted a crowd of the Berekum people to the scene on the street of Nyamebekyere as everyone wants to catch a glimpse of the deceased over the incident of frequent robbery attacks and stealing in the Municipality. BEREKUM TRADITIONAL COUNCIL ACCEPT EIGHT GAZETTED CHIEFS

EIGHT (8) CHIEFS OF BEREKUM TRADITIONAL AREA GAZETTED AS DIVISIONAL CHIEFS IN BEREKUM TRADITIONAL COUNCIL. A number of eight (8) Chiefs in the Berekum Traditional Area have performed their oaths of secrecy to be gazetted as the divisional chiefs of Berekum Traditional Council. The chiefs, numbering 8, got their titles as "Osaberima" to be added to their traditional and rulership names. A high court judge, Justice Baayeh, on the 6th day of November 2018, led the chiefs to sworn in the oaths of secrecy before a certificates of recognition was issued to the chiefs as a divisional chiefs. The gazetted 8 chiefs has been granted the opportunity and right to be part of any sittings of the traditional council and by so doing, all the 8 chiefs have been approved by the government of Ghana to be part of the judicial committee of the Berekum Traditional Council.
