Berekum Media Loses Ace Broadcaster Justice Atta Danquah, 99K Laid To Rest.
The media fraternity in Berekum and the Bono Region has been thrown into mourning following the death of an ace broadcaster, Justice Bernard Atta Danquah, popularly known as 99K.
Justice Atta Danquah, who had worked in the media industry for nearly two decades, passed away on Saturday, September 12, 2026, following a motor accident after closing from work at Adinkafo FM in Jinijini.
He began his basic education at Berekum Boys and Mpatasie Basic School before completing his Senior High School education at Berekum Presbyterian Senior High School, popularly known as PRESEC.
After completing SHS, he joined Abaa Printing Press and later continued his skills training at Don Bosco in Sunyani.
Justice Atta Danquah entered the radio industry in 2010, beginning his broadcasting career at Kiss FM in Drobo. He later worked with Chris FM in Berekum, Akonoba FM in Sunyani, and Adinkafo FM in Jinijini.
At Adinkafo FM, where he had worked for the past eight years, 99K served as the station's manager and morning show host.
Known affectionately as 99K, he was not only a radio presenter but also a master of ceremonies who hosted numerous social and public events in Berekum and other parts of the Bono Region.
His passion and dedication to broadcasting earned him a strong following among listeners and established him as a respected voice in the local media landscape.

His style of presentation, particularly during political talk shows and discussions, was appreciated by leaders and supporters of both major political parties in Berekum East and Berekum West.
His death has therefore created a significant vacuum within the media fraternity, particularly at Adinkafo FM and the Jinijini community.
Political party leaders from the NDC and NPP, Nananom, members of the clergy, fun clubs, keep-fit clubs, and independent political candidates have all expressed shock and sadness over his sudden demise.

The management and staff of Adinkafo FM, as well as residents of Jinijini and the wider Berekum area, have mourned the loss of a colleague and friend who was remembered for his hard work, dedication and passion for the media profession.
Justice Bernard Atta Danquah leaves behind a widow and four children.
