QUEEN MOTHER OF TANTRA HILLS APPEALS FOR FIRE STATION AND FIRE TENDER AHEAD OF 2026 HOMOWO FESTIVAL.
The Queen Mother of Tantra Hills, Naa Odaaley Dzoomo I, has appealed to the Government, the Ghana National Fire Service, corporate organizations, philanthropists, and other stakeholders to support the community with the establishment of a Fire Station and the provision of a Fire Tender to enhance emergency response and protect lives and property.
The appeal was made during a media engagement held on earlier today ahead of the 2026 Tantra Hills Homowo Festival, which is scheduled to take place on Saturday, 1st August 2026, at the Family House in Tantra Hills.
Addressing journalists, Naa Odaaley Dzoomo I expressed concern over the rapid growth of Tantra Hills and its surrounding communities, noting that despite the area's increasing population, commercial activities, and residential developments, it continues to lack a dedicated fire station and fire tender to respond promptly to fire outbreaks.
According to the Queen Mother, the absence of a nearby fire service facility poses a significant risk to residents, businesses, schools, and public institutions, as emergency response times during fire incidents could result in avoidable destruction of lives and property.
She therefore called on the Government, the Ghana National Fire Service, the Ga North Municipal Assembly, development partners, and corporate institutions to prioritize the establishment of a modern fire station equipped with a fire tender to serve Tantra Hills and its adjoining communities.
Naa Odaaley Dzoomo I further stated that the forthcoming Homowo Festival is not only a celebration of the rich cultural heritage of the people but also an opportunity to draw attention to the developmental needs of the community. She emphasized that addressing these needs requires collaboration between traditional authorities, government institutions, corporate organizations, and residents.
The Queen Mother reaffirmed her commitment, together with the Principal Elders of the Nii Lante Family of Onamrokor Adain Family, to champion initiatives that promote the safety, development, and overall well-being of the people of Tantra Hills.
She also extended an invitation to traditional rulers, government officials, corporate institutions, development partners, residents, and the general public to participate in the 2026 Tantra Hills Homowo Festival on Saturday, 1st August 2026, and called for their support towards the continued growth and development of the community.
