Nkoranza North Gets 11km Odumasi-Dromankuma Road Project.
The Member of Parliament for Nkoranza North, Hon. Joseph Kwasi Mensah, has cut the sod for the construction of an 11-kilometre road from Odumasi to Dromankuma.
The project was undertaken in collaboration with the District Chief Executive, Hon. Effah Patrick. It is expected to improve road connectivity and ease the transportation of goods and people within the constituency.
Speaking at the sod-cutting ceremony held at Dromankuma, Hon. Mensah said the road forms part of a broader agenda to upgrade the road network across Nkoranza North.
“We are currently experiencing the Big Push project in the constituency, which this road and some others are not part of. But I am tirelessly working to ensure these roads are constructed,” Hon. Mensah noted.
“We are hopeful that it will be completed within a year. We will also be doing a lot of inner roads as well,” he added.
The MP said the project will significantly improve local transportation, reduce travel time, and stimulate economic activities, particularly for farmers who struggle to transport produce to market centres.
For his part, the DCE, Hon. Effah Patrick, highlighted other ongoing development projects in the district.
He mentioned the construction of school facilities, CHPS compounds, and the drilling of boreholes for ten communities as part of efforts to improve education, health, and access to potable water in Nkoranza North.
Hon. Mensah and Hon. Effah Patrick said the constituency is currently witnessing “surprising progress” in infrastructure development under their leadership, adding that the new road complements the government’s national “Big Push” infrastructure agenda.
The Chief of Dromankuma, Nana Kwasi Baffoe, also expressed his profound appreciation to the Member of Parliament and the District Chief Executive for initiating the project, noting that it has been a long-standing request of the people.
Residents who attended the ceremony expressed optimism that the completion of the road, together with the other projects, will open up the area for more development and improve access to essential services.
Construction works on the 11km road are expected to begin immediately, with a projected completion period of 12 months.
