Ghana Anti-corruption Coalition together with CDD-Ghana and Transparency International with support from the European Union has held a sensitization forum at Kato in the Berekum East Municipal of the Bono region.

He urged the youth to help develop the appetite to readily demand accountability from public officials making sure what they have learned during the forum will be utilized to achieve the purpose of corruption fight in all sectors.
The NCCE Director for Berekum East Municipal, George Yennukon explained that, corruption is eroding the country's development because most public officers are abusing their entrusted power for their personal gains hence called on the people to be bold to fight against corruption at all levels.
He added that bribery, embezzlement and nepotism are all forms of corruption and if we all get involved in the fight, it will put fear into public officials to steal from the public purse.
Mr Yakuno lamented that, if we refuse to report people with corrupt practices, the limitations are that scares resources of the country will only be enjoyed by a very few people who have been entrusted with power leaving the majority in awe therefore we must arise to challenge all forms of corrupt practices.
He called on all Ghanaians to come on board to fight corruption since it is a collective effort to do that, since Ghana Anti-corruption Coalition, CDD-Ghana and Transparency International alone cannot fight against corruption.
Nana Effah Boakye I, the Local Chairman for Berekum Local Accountability Network on his part implored upon the government through the Chief Justice to create a specialized court to deal with corruption related cases without it, the traditional courts are not helping in corruption fight because most corruption cases can be at court for more than 4 to 8 years without any prosecution and this is not helpful in the fight against corruption among public officials.

He added that, the whistle blowers act is also there to protect those who take the bold step to report on those involved in corrupt practices.
