Berekum East Municipal Assembly Makes Steady Progress in Utilizing DACF for Development.


The Berekum East Municipal Assembly in the Bono Region, under the leadership of Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) Hon. Hajia Fatima Abubakar, is making significant strides in utilizing the District Assemblies Common Fund (DACF) to drive development across the municipality.


The quarterly DACF allocations have become a major source of funding for several infrastructure and social intervention projects, contributing to visible improvements in many communities. Over the past year, numerous projects have been completed, while several others are at various stages of construction.




During a working tour of the Bono Region, the Bono Regional Minister, Hon. Joseph Addae Akwaboa, commended both the MCE and the Member of Parliament for Berekum East, Hon. Simon Ampaabeng Kyeremeh, for their dedication and commitment to the municipality's development.


According to the Assembly, the government remains committed to improving the living conditions of residents through investments in education, healthcare, water and sanitation, roads, security, and other essential sectors. Residents of Berekum East continue to witness these development efforts through the execution of various projects across the municipality.







Some of the projects undertaken by the Assembly and the Member of Parliament include legacy projects as well as newly completed and commissioned facilities. These projects were inspected by the Bono Regional Minister during his visit.


Health Projects.

New Community-based Health Planning and Services (CHPS) compounds are under construction in:


•Mpatasie


•Kutre No. 1


•Namasua


Education Projects.

Several educational infrastructure projects have been completed or are ongoing, including:


•Kyereyawkrom three-unit classroom block (legacy project)


•Kato R/C Kindergarten block


•Kutre No. 2 R/C School three-unit classroom block


•BESS Basic School six-unit classroom block


•Biadan Methodist six-unit classroom block


•Magrasate Islamic School Kindergarten block


•GETFund project at Methodist B Basic School


Water and Sanitation.


The Assembly has also completed and handed over ten mechanized boreholes to beneficiary communities, including:


•Kyerebaa

Ahenfie Hotel area


•Kutre No. 2 and other surrounding communities.


Security Intervention.

District Police Crime Office legacy project Commissioned.

Residents have welcomed these interventions and continue to express optimism that the collaboration between the Municipal Chief Executive and the Member of Parliament will bring even greater transformation to the Berekum East Municipality.

25-Year-Old Young Man Electrocuted in Berekum.

25-Year-Old Young Man Electrocuted in Berekum . A suspected thief by the name Oboshie in his 25 years has been electrocuted at Berekum Nyamebekyere in the Berekum East Municipal of the Bono region . According to eye-witnesses, the suspected thief's lifeless body was found on the food vendor metal container as he attempted to steal from the container of the vendor who operates in a metal container. His death attracted a crowd of the Berekum people to the scene on the street of Nyamebekyere as everyone wants to catch a glimpse of the deceased over the incident of frequent robbery attacks and stealing in the Municipality.
