CHIRAA CONCERNED CITIZENS RAISE ALARM OVER SUDDEN DEATH OF MEMBER-NANA BOAKYE (OBRONI) AFTER COMMUNITY AGITATION.

The Concerned Citizens of Chiraa have expressed shock and deep concern over the sudden death of Nana Boakye, popularly known as Obroni, a leading figure in the recent protest against the proposed conversion of the Chiraa Community Library into a fire service station.

According to members of the group, Nana Boakye reportedly complained of an attacked illness shortly after actively participating in the protest. After reporting to the hospital, the doctors stated that his condition was deteriorated unexpectedly, leading to his untimely demise.

The deceased attended a funeral on Friday and Saturday where he actively engaged in community activities. Shortly after the funeral events, he complained of stomach discomfort and later became seriously unwell.

Following the brief illness, his health condition worsened rapidly despite efforts to seek medical attention. His sudden passing has raised serious concerns among family members and residents of the Chiraa community.

The association noted that before falling ill, Nana Boakye — popularly known as Obroni — appeared strong, energetic, and fully committed to the cause he was championing for the community.

The Concerned Citizens emphasized that he played a significant and influential role in mobilizing residents and leading discussions aimed at protecting the library from being repurposed.

According to them, his leadership inspired many people to join the protest and firmly oppose the proposed conversion, which they believe would negatively affect educational development in the community.

However, the group has expressed suspicion over the circumstances surrounding his death. They believe there is a possibility of food poisoning and are calling for a thorough investigation to determine whether the incident was accidental or involved foul play.

Some community members argue that the sudden stomach complications after the funeral raise serious questions. They suspect it could be linked to attempts to intimidate or silence those who oppose the conversion of the library into a fire service station.

The Concerned Citizens have therefore called for a transparent and comprehensive investigation into the exact cause of death to unravel the circumstances surrounding the tragedy.

They insist that proper investigations must be conducted to establish the truth and ensure accountability if any wrongdoing is discovered.

The group made it clear that their demand for clarity is not intended to create tension but to bring peace of mind to the bereaved family and the wider community.

They also stressed that the tragic incident will not intimidate or deter them from continuing to advocate for the protection of the community library and other development initiatives.

As Chiraa mourns Nana Boakye (Obroni), sympathizers continue to visit the family to express condolences, while residents vow to honour his memory by remaining united and committed to the cause he passionately defended.
