BEREKUM EAST ASSEMBLY HOLDS FIRST ORDINARY ASSEMBLY MEETING TO ELECT PRESIDING MEMBER.

The Berekum East Municipal Assembly of the Bono region has held its first ordinary assembly meeting for this year to strengthen the collaboration between the assembly the people of Berekum when it comes to development.


The meeting which was purposely held to elect the Presiding Member whose turner ended for another election and to discuss other developmental matters concerning the Berekum.


The Presiding Member (PM) elections was successful conducted being the first Assembly to Elect their PM in the Bono region obtaining the percentage of 74% with the total votes cast of 39 Assembly Members.


Speaking to Alrich24newsgh.blogspot.com news, the newly elected Presiding Member (PM), Hon. Prince Adade commended the assembly members for the opportunity once again given him to steer the affairs of the assembly and promised to lead the assembly to achieve its objectives and goals that will promote Berekum's development.

On her part, the MCE of Berekum East, Hon Hajia Fatima Abubakar emphasized much on the progress of work that has taken place in Berekum for the past one year in office to support the people especially in the area of education, sanitation, health, agriculture and among other social interventions.


She urged the assembly members and the people to rally behind her to oversee the developmental projects the people of Berekum East Municipal are expecting as she is ever ready to ensure the image of Berekum is redeemed.


Some of the Assembly Members, Hon. Williams Ofori also shared his thoughts on the progress of Berekum under the current government and believe very soon the people of Berekum East will see the transformation they have been waiting for many years.

EIGHT (8) CHIEFS OF BEREKUM TRADITIONAL AREA GAZETTED AS DIVISIONAL CHIEFS IN BEREKUM TRADITIONAL COUNCIL. A number of eight (8) Chiefs in the Berekum Traditional Area have performed their oaths of secrecy to be gazetted as the divisional chiefs of Berekum Traditional Council. 25-Year-Old Young Man Electrocuted in Berekum . A suspected thief by the name Oboshie in his 25 years has been electrocuted at Berekum Nyamebekyere in the Berekum East Municipal of the Bono region . According to eye-witnesses, the suspected thief's lifeless body was found on the food vendor metal container as he attempted to steal from the container of the vendor who operates in a metal container. His death attracted a crowd of the Berekum people to the scene on the street of Nyamebekyere as everyone wants to catch a glimpse of the deceased over the incident of frequent robbery attacks and stealing in the Municipality.
