MP of Berekum West Support Over 150 Students with Ghc200,000.00 After One Year in Office of His Accountability.
After one year in office, as part of the accountability series of NDC administration in office to highlight their accountability to citizens, the Member of Parliament (MP) for Berekum West Constituency of the Bono region has embarked on its accountability series to the Constituents.
Hon. Dickson Kyere-Duah aka Stugard has render an account of his stewardship to the people of Berekum West Constituency, explaining how he has worked seriously to involved himself in the Parliamentry discourse contributing in most national issues including roads, sports, education, security and among others.
Quite apart from what he has done in Parliament, the people and communities in the area have not been left out when it comes to development.
Touching on roads, sanitation, health, security, education, sports, energy and infrastructure, each of the 20 and above communities have seen one or more development within their catchment areas.
He assured that, his efforts in Parliament has enabled the return of the construction of Jinijini-Sampa road that will soon be rehabilitated by Rango Construction Ltd.
On education, the MP emphasized on the need for him established an Education Endowment Fund of Ghc200,000.00 to support brilliant but needy students in the Constituency especially tertiary students who are furthering their education.
He said, education is one of his priorities and is ready to support students to the highest level of the education ladder which he believes they in turn will bring back their knowledge and expertise to serve the people in the area hence extended support to over 150 students.
Some of the beneficiary students, Joyclyn Kwartenmaa Kusi, who is pursuing medicine at the University of Development Studies among over 150 other students got scholarships out of the MP's Education Endowment Fund to support them in their education expressed her appreciation to the MP for coming to their aid in such a time like this.
The Chief of Jinijini, Nana Tutu Baffour Asare II also took the opportunity to thank the MP for his initiative to account on his project of work he has delivered to the people for the past one year in office which to him is the first time for the people in the area to witness such kind of accountability series from an MP.
The accountability series by the MP was were attended by the chiefs and people of Berekum West as well as the party executives and NDC sympathizers.
All the 20 Communities in the Constituency got their representation from both the traditional leaders including their local town folks.
