Ten months after a presidential directive to urgently construct a bridge, schoolchildren in Asuokaw continue to face a serious daily danger, relying on a makeshift log bridge to cross a major stream on their way to class. The plight of Asuokaw gained national attention in February when a viral video showed two pupils carefully balancing on a fallen tree trunk to traverse the stream.
