Atiwa East DCE Cuts the Sod for Construction of 6-Unit Classroom Block at Atiwa Bebome No 2 Community.
The District Chief Executive, Mr. Ernest Owusu Ntim, has cut the sod for the construction of 6-Unit classroom block with ancillary facilities to enhance quality educational infrastructure in the District.
The project, includes 2- store rooms, Staff common room, toilet facilities, mechanized borehole, furniture for staff and kindergarten furniture aim to address overcrowding to improve teaching and learning.
Hon. Ernest Owusu Ntim speaking with Alrich24newsgh.blogspot.com news reporter Apelete Kofi Michel, said the construction of the six-unit classroom and ancillary facilities is funded through the Assembly's share of the District Assemblies Common Fund (DACF) to enhance learning environment for students. He emphasised that the project forms part of the government's broader educational agenda to ensure effective decentralization and equitable distribution of development across all sectors.
According to him, the project initiated to address specific needs in Atiwa Bebome no 2 community, such as a lack of sufficient classrooms to improve existing structures to meet the needs of growing students population.
He said education in Atiwa District is very great and when it comes to results of Basic Education Certificate Examination ( BECE), Atiwa East performed well and have to improve the infrastructure for more active in education to ensure conducive and safe teaching and learning environment.
The project, specific facilities included depends on the project's scope budget, and local requirements.
DCE emphasised the project is expected to be completed within stipulated time to improve educational standards.
Mr. Ernest Owusu cutting the sod indicated that the project was in fulfilment of President John Dramani Mahama's educational "reset agenda" that the contractor have been given 6 month period to complete the project and appealed to the chiefs to support the construction to improve access to quality education. He also said as part of collaboration, the Bebome traditional leaders donated land for the project, while the District assembly engineering would ensure of proper work is executed.
The Atiwa East District Education Director, Mrs. Pearl Leone Aquah commended the government for the initiative to enhance effective teaching and learning. She lauded the DCE, Mr. Ernest Owusu Ntim for the intevention saying that it would promote educational outcomes in Bebome no 2 Community.
She expressed optimism that the 6-Unit ancillary facilities would inspire children to take a greater interest in their studies and prepare for a brighter future. Mrs. Pearl Leone Aquah urged Bebome community to support the project to ensure its smooth completion.
The Manager of Cherish Homestead Limited, has assured to speed the works to meet the stipulated 6 month to resolve the infrastructure challenges. He appealed to Bebome No 2 community to support the construction to enable them to deliver.
Some of the parents in Bebome no 2 community expressed gratitude to the President, DCE and Education Service for the historic project saying many parents had dropped-out their wards to a different schools due to the dilapidated state of the existing classrooms.
They i added that the new 6-Unit ancillary facilities would reverse the trend and provide more conducive learning environment.
