A 40-Year-Old Man stabbed to death over Ghc180.00 in Berekum.

A man believes to be in his 40 years have been stabbed by his friend to death in Berekum East Municipal of the Bono region.

The suspect Owusu Taah aka Angoro stabbed his close friend over a debt of Ghc 30.00 own him which the deceased by name Bright has refused to pay back.

Speaking to the Assembly Man of Awrempe Electoral Area, Hon. Yamoah explained that, nobody can rightly know the reason why the deceased was stabbed but the information that was given to him by some residents indicates that, the suspect got hi money which was Ghc180.00 missing and suspected the victim and another person stole the money hence he let the police arrested them and later agree to settle the money.

He said, since then the deceased only settled the suspect with Ghc 50.00 and has been chasing him for the rest of the money which is Ghc 30.00 which the deceased has failed to do so which he believes led to this demis of the victim.

The deceased body has since been deposited at the Holy Family hospital morgue for autopsy.

The case has been reported to the Berekum Police and the suspect has been arrested and put behind bars for further interrogation.

BEREKUM TRADITIONAL COUNCIL ACCEPT EIGHT GAZETTED CHIEFS

EIGHT (8) CHIEFS OF BEREKUM TRADITIONAL AREA GAZETTED AS DIVISIONAL CHIEFS IN BEREKUM TRADITIONAL COUNCIL. A number of eight (8) Chiefs in the Berekum Traditional Area have performed their oaths of secrecy to be gazetted as the divisional chiefs of Berekum Traditional Council. The chiefs, numbering 8, got their titles as "Osaberima" to be added to their traditional and rulership names. A high court judge, Justice Baayeh, on the 6th day of November 2018, led the chiefs to sworn in the oaths of secrecy before a certificates of recognition was issued to the chiefs as a divisional chiefs. The gazetted 8 chiefs has been granted the opportunity and right to be part of any sittings of the traditional council and by so doing, all the 8 chiefs have been approved by the government of Ghana to be part of the judicial committee of the Berekum Traditional Council.
