China City Mall in Kumasi Razed Down By Fire.
China City Mall which was built to boost the garden city with consumables goods and other varieties of items has razed down by fire completely .
The facility opened less than 6 months ago has today Thursday 30th October, 2025 seen its destruction by fire disaster that was unable to be controlled by Ghana Fire Service.
The blaze, according to eyewitness is said to have began from one of the external shops and spread rapidly through the mall, which houses numerous businesses primarily dealing in imported Chinese goods, including electronics, clothing, and household items.
Fire fighters from different stations quickly moved to battle the inferno for hours before bringing it under control.
Their efforts were reportedly hampered by the intensity of the fire.
Speaking to the m media, the Ashanti regional fire commander, ACFO Peter Tetteh, who was at the scene addressed the media, saying his outfit is yet to ascertain the cause of the fire pending further investigation.
While no casualties have been reported, the economic impact is expected to be severe since after 6 months of stocking the mall with varieties of household goods, everything has been consumed by the fire.
Many stood helplessly watching the inferno as years of investment turned to ashes after the hours of the disaster.
The China City Mall has become one of the major commercial hubs in Kumasi since its establishment, known for its diverse range of affordable products.
The police have cordoned off the area as fire officials begin the investigation to determine the exact cause of the blaze.
