AKCOMLIB-GH DONATES SCHOOL UNIFORMS, BAGS, BOOKS, PENS AND PENCILS TO SOME BASIC SCHOOLS IN BEREKUM.

Akcomlib-Ghana, a Non- Governmental Organisation based in Berekum-Kato operated by the Queen Mother of Kato, Nana Afiah Sraa Ababio III has extended a benevolent hand to donate teaching and learning materials to some basic school children within the Berekum East Municipal of the Bono region.

The donation which form part of the NGO's plan to lift the standard of education among school children in Berekum presented over 1000 exercise books, pens, bags, pencils and erasers including school uniform to some children from BESS Basic School, Kato Roman Catholic Basic School and other schools.

Education which has become a necessary major priority of Nana Afia Sraa Ababio III and commitment to improve upon learning in school children has dedicated a 2 hours and 30 minutes of her time every Sunday afternoon together with her team to teach and train the children of Berekum at her palace, taking them through reading of books, folktales, traditional dancing among other practical education to inculcate in the children to embrace than to neglect old traditions.

In receiving the books on behalf of the children, the headmaster of BESS Basic School Mr Adu Abraham commended the bold initiative of AKCOMLIB-GH executives for coming to the aid of the children.

He pleaded on other agencies to embrace what AKCOMLIB-GH is doing and also urge that all the necessary support should be given to AKCOMLIB-GH to do more than what they are currently doing.

EIGHT (8) CHIEFS OF BEREKUM TRADITIONAL AREA GAZETTED AS DIVISIONAL CHIEFS IN BEREKUM TRADITIONAL COUNCIL. A number of eight (8) Chiefs in the Berekum Traditional Area have performed their oaths of secrecy to be gazetted as the divisional chiefs of Berekum Traditional Council. The chiefs, numbering 8, got their titles as "Osaberima" to be added to their traditional and rulership names. A high court judge, Justice Baayeh, on the 6th day of November 2018, led the chiefs to sworn in the oaths of secrecy before a certificates of recognition was issued to the chiefs as a divisional chiefs. The gazetted 8 chiefs has been granted the opportunity and right to be part of any sittings of the traditional council and by so doing, all the 8 chiefs have been approved by the government of Ghana to be part of the judicial committee of the Berekum Traditional Council.
