Over 10,000 People Screened in Berekum Through Free Medical Outreach by Berekumman Citizens Association and Ghana Medical Relief.
A number of over 10000 people in Berekum who were suffering from various diseases has have the opportunity to be screened and treated freely in Berekum East Municipal of the Bono region.
The free medical outreach programme which was initiated and sponsored by the Berekumman Citizens Association in collaboration with the Ghana Medical Relief which was held at the Holy Family Hospital with support from Ghana Health Services brought joy to thousands of people living in Berekum and it's environs.
Some of the beneficiaries who shown up for the event highly has expressed their appreciation to the team who brought the program to Berekum to screen them freely with the treatment associated with it.
Out of the total number of medical consultations of 10,029 beneficiaries, 576 among the people went through dental procedures successfully while the rest of the number was engaged in other consultations with different diseases.
Sister Renna V. John, the Administrator of the Holy Family Hospital was elated to commend the successful team of the Ghana Medical Relief, Ghana Health Services and all the volunteers who supported the program for the 5 day free screening.
She pledged for the hospital readiness for the next event should Ghana Medical Relief team is considering another place for next year, Berekum will be ready again for their come back.
Dr. Frank Gyamfi is the Medical Director of the Holy Family Hospital his gratitude to the Ghana Health Services, Ghana Medical Relief and the Berekumman Citizens Association for the health relief that has been given to the people of Berekum and the rest of the other communities that benefited.
Dr. Samuel Owusu, the team lead for the Ghana Medical Relief also said, they have been to other places since 2018 including Asiakwa, Tamale and among other towns but Berekum was seeing recording the highest numbers in all the places they have visited for such an event.
The Member of Parliament for Berekum East, Hon. Elder Simon Amparbeng Kyeremeh who also supported the program expressed his joy over the massive turn out of the people to be screened which that burden of attending to hospitals to clear bills of some people was taken away through the screening and called for the people of Berekum to support every wealthy course that will bring development to the city.
The MCE of Berekum East Municipal Hon. Hajia Fatima Abubakar assured that, the assembly is ever ready to help build Berekum together with everyone hence her doors are open for the progress and development of Berekum.
On his part, Berekum West DCE, Hon. Collins Asoma appeal to the leaders of Berekumman Citizens Association to as well consider organizing such events in Berekum West since not all his people were able to benefit from the program and supported it together with the MP of Berekum West Hon. Dickson Kyere-Duah with an amount of Ghc10,000.00.
The Acting Traditional Council President, Osaberima Yeboah Dartey II was pleased to see a nice initiative to save the lives of Berekum people in such a time like this and believes this will go a very long way to help the people are suffering from different diseases.
The founder of Berekumman Citizens Association, Evg Paul together with the association members expressed their appreciation to all the team lead from Ghana Medical Relief, Ghana Health Services, Holy Family Hospital, Volunteers and the members of the association who devoted their time, energ and everything to make the program successful.
He therefore plead on the Ghana Medical Relief team to do consider Berekum for the next year program.
He finally urged the people who benefited from the program to continue seeking medical attention because prioritising your health is very necessary for everyone.
Ghana Medical Relief at the end of the program donated an assorted materials and drugs to the Holy Family Hospital.
